Creating jobs through innovation: With the millennium development goals in mind, our idea is to use cleaner energy to create jobs in rural areas and reduce poverty and unemployment. Building a prototype structure that is portable, durable and cost effective, using solar power and LP gas. The main function of this structure will be to prepare food for the end consumer. This prototype/structure can be sold to the end customer, governments or any organisation who deals with poverty alleviation. This prototype/structure will create jobs, in the sense that it will drive entrepreneurship and social upliftment in the rural areas of Sub Saharan Africa.

• Creating jobs through innovation:
• With the millennium development goals in mind, our idea is to use
cleaner energy to create jobs in rural areas and reduce poverty and
unemployment.

3. Hypothesis
• Sub Saharan Africa is expected to have a significant
increase in working class in the next 4-5 years.
• The PI (prosperity index) of Sub Saharan Africa
countries is rising. There is a direct correlation between
PI and entrepreneurship.
• The higher the business start up costs in a country, the
more likely that entrepreneurship will fail.
• Random sample will show that social capital (SC) is a
key factor in PI=Entrepreneurship and will determine
where venture is most likely to succeed.

• Research Sub Saharan average age through
United Nations.
• Correlate PI and E&O rankings.
• Calculate business start-up costs as a percentage
of Gross National Income (GNI) for each sub-
Saharan country
• Research four random countries using data from
the United Nations and the Legatum Institute.
Countries selected: South Africa, Zimbabwe,
Namibia, Botswana

6. New Hypothesis
• 1.Our venture will be in an unique position to meet the
need of the growing working population.
2. The new culture of PI=Entrepreneurship will ensure that
our venture has a better chance of succeeding in Sub
Saharan Africa.
3.Countries with high entry barriers should be avoided at
first, until the business model is proven.
4.The venture should be directed at countries that showed
a increase in social capital. For this hypothesis SC being :
"Social capital is about the value of social networks,
bonding similar people and bridging between diverse
people, with norms of reciprocity (Dekker and Uslaner
2001; Uslaner 2001). Sander (2002, p. 213)"
