required to chair, co-chair or lead such groups.

Provides input into Nursing Executive level decisions and supports and works in partnership

Facilitates effective patient flow utilising bed capacity and staffing resources appropriately.
Monitors and reviews staff skill mix on the unit and department and in accordance with patient
acuity uses available information to align staffing and workload and communicates with the
hospital supervisor as required.
Ensures that quality standards of nursing documentation are maintained according to
organisational policy.
Communicates with all unit(s) /departments as appropriate, to maximise efficiency and to
expedite the admission, transfer and discharge process.

recommendations and lessons to be learned from investigations and external and regulatory
reviews where Nursing/ Midwifery has come under scrutiny.

To take part in the Charge Nurse on call rota, providing out of hours managerial support and cover
to the organisation.
