Provide general nursing care to patients in hospital by providing and assisting with
activities of daily living.
Interview patient for admission purposes; reconciling medications taken daily,
updating patient profile to include medical history. 
Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence-based
practice.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved
nursing techniques; observe patient condition to monitor response to treatment.
 Observe patients' conditions, measuring and recording vital signs, and report any
acute changes to professional staff.
 Monitor patients' blood pressure and heart rate using electrocardiogram (EKG)
equipment during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to notify the physician if
something appears abnormal.
Provide patient and family education based on current needs, diagnosis,
treatments, and/or procedures according to the interdisciplinary care plan.

Serves as a resource in clinical situations.
Assisted in the management of a comprehensive improvement program to ensure
that program and services meet accrediting standards for the Joint Commission on the
Accreditation of Health-care Organizations (JCAHO) and other accrediting programs.
Assessed available resources, patient and unit need and assigned staff according to
patient acuity.
Assisted in the development and implementation of staff education and orientation,
specific job-related training, and other approaches to provide opportunities
for staff flexibility and development.
