1. There are four cases for line clipping: both endpoints inside the clipping area and the whole line is drawn; both endpoints outside and the line is not drawn; both endpoints outside but the line intersects the clipping area and only the intersecting segment is drawn; and one endpoint inside and one outside and only the intersecting segment is drawn.
2. The midpoint subdivision algorithm divides lines into three categories - visible, not visible, and candidates for clipping - and recursively subdivides candidate lines at the midpoint until all segments are categorized.
3. There are four cases when processing polygon vertices for clipping: both vertices inside and the second is saved; first inside and second outside and the intersection is saved; first outside
