An estimated 1 in 25 children born in the UK is affected by a genetic disorder, with over 30,000 babies born each year with a condition. There are more than 6,000 known genetic disorders which are the leading cause of death for children under 14. Jeans for Genes Day is held annually where people donate £2/£1 by wearing jeans to work or school, raising over £2 million each year to support families and children living with genetic disorders through care, equipment, and community events.
