Genetic disorders are very common, affecting 1 in 25 children born in the UK. There are over 4,500 recognized genetic disorders and they are the leading cause of death for children under 14. Jeans for Genes raises over £2 million every year by asking people to donate £1-2 to wear jeans to work or school. All the money raised is distributed among charities that support people affected by genetic conditions and fund research into these conditions.
