This document discusses the transformation of Sufism and spirituality into architecture. It provides background on Sufism as the mystical tradition in Islam focused on purifying the heart through prayer and meditation. It then examines case studies of architectural projects that incorporated Sufistic symbols and practices to strengthen the spiritual connection between people and God, such as a Sufism sanctuary in California. The document argues for the importance of reviving spiritual and indigenous identities in architecture by magnifying spiritual spaces through symbolism, light, contextual design, and experiential design.
