Instant Agility in Oracle Fusion Middleware through Design Time @ Run Time (O...Lucas Jellema
Agility is about ability to adapt. Enterprises need to quickly respond to changing circumstances and requirements. Agility is a state of mind (“embrace change”) that must be supported by process and technology. This session will demonstrate how Fusion Middleware provides a substantial dose of instant agility through its design time @ run time facilities. Application Management evolves into Application Composition as BPM and SOA Suite applications allow run time editing of business logic, human tasks and process definitions. Likewise, ADF applications, especially when integrated with UCM and WebCenter, support run time editing of content, page composition and even security, data sources and visualizations - even customized per user group.
Manage Agility through Manage-ability – Introducing Design Time at Run Time ...Lucas Jellema
Agility is the objective. A goal hard to achieve given the fairly long and complex procedures to get changes introduced into running software. This presentation discusses mechanisms in Oracle Fusion Middleware that allow a substantial part of the lookk and feel as well as the behavior of software components to be defined through meta data that can be edited at run time in a WYSIWYG fashion. This mechanism is called Design Time at Run Time and caters for advanced levels of agility - provided organizations organize the appropriate processes around the software.
This document provides instructions for members of a website on how to get the most out of their membership by updating their profile, logging in to access member features, finding and learning about other members, advertising their business, and signing up for member benefits like discounted meetings and opportunities to promote their business. It outlines the various areas of the member website, how to complete tasks like logging in, updating profiles, paying dues or for advertising, and viewing other member information. The goal is to help members network, advertise their business, and take full advantage of the resources available through their membership.
This document discusses building self-service digital platforms using SharePoint 2010. It describes key components like registration, authentication, integrations with systems like CRM, support for mobile access, and leveraging social networks. The architecture uses a presentation layer to handle different devices, an application layer for business logic, and an EAI platform to integrate with backend systems for functions like billing and line of business data. The goal is to provide a unified experience across channels like desktop, mobile and social media.
The document summarizes trends in social commerce from 2009 to 2010. It discusses how the traditional purchase funnel is no longer controlled by brands alone and now relies on social connections. Emerging trends driving innovation include brands embracing customer voice, new ways of consuming information, and measuring social return on investment. The document outlines four areas for social commerce innovation: driving acquisition and conversion through contributor loyalty; connecting brands to the social web; harnessing the social supply chain; and transforming businesses through social analytics. It also notes that online opinions can impact offline purchases.
Authentication, authorization, and data access controls are standard requirements for most data-centric apps. And in a traditional client-server environment, these are often the most time-consuming features to implement, even for experts. In this session, you'll learn about Database.com's unique approach to user authentication with OAuth, user types, and a built-in and flexible data sharing model.
Watch this webinar to learn about:
:: Common authentication patterns such as OAuth and SAML
:: How functional access controls provide simple administration of a user's permissions
:: How record-level access provides granularity of control at enterprise scale
:: How all three authorization and authentication patterns work together to do most of the work for you

The document discusses replacing a grand piano's pinblock. It explains that a pinblock must grip tuning pins tightly to maintain tuning, and deteriorated pinblocks can cause tuning instability. Replacing a pinblock is often best when laminations have separated, pins are loose, or the pinblock is mushy. The process requires removing the plate and precisely cutting, fitting, and drilling a new pinblock to the plate to ensure tuning stability. The level of precision makes replacing the pinblock best done by a technician rather than at home.

Take your vision of the future to a fully realized product or service. Affinity diagramming provides a thinking framework around that vision to help formulate a plan for the business or product’s success.
Using this same tool, we can determine whether this process could also be used to build a plan for personal success. Through a “self-audit,” involving prioritization, goal tracking, and data visualization, we can achieve clarity, a focused plan, and a system by which to measure success.
Attendees will go through the process of creating their own personal UX evaluation by using the provided design tools to collect, sort, and prioritize both personal and professional goals. For anyone brave enough to get vulnerable and explore a new approach to self improvement, it’s an engaging, immersive experience unique to the average conference agenda.

Slides for the "Honey, I shrunk the code" JAB14 presentation regarding the new XML MVC AhaWow engine technology used in Community Builder 2.0 and CBSubs GPL 3.0.
The CB Team hosted a live webinar and presented the next generation Community Builder 2.0. These are the slides used during the presentation which was followed by an online demo and a questions/answers session.
Membership software allows websites to manage free or paid membership by restricting access to content and providing premium content to subscribers. CBSubs is a Joomla membership solution that uses Community Builder plugins to restrict access to website content based on subscription plans. It supports paid subscriptions, donations, and sales with integrated payment gateways and powerful tools to configure plans, promotions, and integrations with other extensions.
This document contains the agenda for a presentation on getting started with CBSubs GPL. The presentation will provide an overview of CBSubs GPL and demonstrate how to install it on a CB 1.9/Joomla 3.1.5 site. It will cover setting up the main plugin, bot, content, and CB field components as well as configuring settings for currency and subscriptions. The demonstration will include creating dummy gateway for testing, two sample plans (free lifetime and advanced), protecting a content category, integrating with CB fields, and filtering the CB user manager.

Implementation without coding using Community Builder framework tools
--
Every website is a different use case in terms of design and functionality. Most integrators choose to "hack" code in order to solve client needs. This compromises future maintenance and upgrading.
The CB framework and add-ons can turn any integrator into a hack-free developer. Learn how in this session.
The CB framework provides an API with over 300 events as well as a plethora of tools that take advantage of these events and supports a structured implementation methodology.
"Developing" a Joomla website for a client always involves satisfying specific customer use case needs. Despite the hundreds of JED extensions, in most instances these customer specific needs cannot be satisfied with out-of-the-box solutions. Hands-on implementation (PHP, CSS, HTML, etc.) is needed or maybe not?
This session focuses on the Community Builder framework and the available solutions and how they can be extended with any, or only, minimal coding in order to implement many different use cases. Developers should alway strive to provide clean hack-free solutions for their customers. The CB Framework and available tools can be used to provide such solutions.
The CB solutions (CB, GroupJive, Activity, CBSubs) provide over 300 event triggers that can be used to extend or add functionality to your Joomla community or membership website.
In this presentation we will:
+ Structured implementation
+ Learn how to use the CB Auto Actions plugin to harness this power.
+ See how CBSubs SQL and URL integration plugins can be exploited.
+ Explore the CB Query field type and CB database lookup validation field possibilities.
+ Update on work-in-progress enhancements
The document outlines the agenda for a Joomla 2.5 workshop, including an introduction to Joomla fundamentals, installation, adding content, and social networking extensions. Part A covers the basics of Joomla, installation, and content creation. Part B focuses on social networking solutions like Community Builder and paid membership features with CBSubs. The workshop aims to help attendees get started with Joomla, experiment locally, and learn how to enhance a Joomla site with social and membership functionality.
The document introduces Community Builder 2.0, which uses a new framework called AHA?WOW! that allows developers to build web applications through specification alone without implementation code. AHA?WOW! streamlines development by making applications self-generating from formal specifications of models, views, and controllers. It also handles the entire administration interface through event-driven specifications rather than code. The example of a currency rates browser application demonstrates how AHA?WOW! automatically generates the working application based solely on the specifications provided.
The document summarizes a workshop on integrating Community Builder with uddeIM, Kunena, GroupJive, and CBSubs. It outlines the steps to install each extension and configure their integrations with Community Builder and each other. This allows private messaging, forums, groups, and subscriptions to leverage Community Builder profiles and functionality for a unified user experience.
This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing Joomla 2.5, including downloading the package, extracting the files, uploading them to a server, running the installation, and completing the configuration. It also shows screenshots of an empty Joomla site and the administration login page. The document promotes membership and coupon codes for Joomlapolis products and encourages readers to comment on and vote for the Community Builder extension.

Digital Banking in the Cloud: How Citizens Bank Unlocked Their MainframePrecisely
Inconsistent user experience and siloed data, high costs, and changing customer expectations – Citizens Bank was experiencing these challenges while it was attempting to deliver a superior digital banking experience for its clients. Its core banking applications run on the mainframe and Citizens was using legacy utilities to get the critical mainframe data to feed customer-facing channels, like call centers, web, and mobile. Ultimately, this led to higher operating costs (MIPS), delayed response times, and longer time to market.
Ever-changing customer expectations demand more modern digital experiences, and the bank needed to find a solution that could provide real-time data to its customer channels with low latency and operating costs. Join this session to learn how Citizens is leveraging Precisely to replicate mainframe data to its customer channels and deliver on their “modern digital bank” experiences.

[OReilly Superstream] Occupy the Space: A grassroots guide to engineering (an...Jason Yip
The typical problem in product engineering is not bad strategy, so much as “no strategy”. This leads to confusion, lack of motivation, and incoherent action. The next time you look for a strategy and find an empty space, instead of waiting for it to be filled, I will show you how to fill it in yourself. If you’re wrong, it forces a correction. If you’re right, it helps create focus. I’ll share how I’ve approached this in the past, both what works and lessons for what didn’t work so well.
HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
