2. SUMMARY
• The City retained the CE Group in June 2021 to
assist in planning of the 100 year anniversary
of the incorporation of Alamo Heights for
phase I
• Phase I now complete
• Proposed Phase II services include:

• Event and production logistics services for an
open streets event - currently planned for
Sunday, October 02, 2022
• Event and production logistics services for a
culminating event - currently scheduled for
Saturday, October 08, 2022

4. BACKGROUND
• CE Group was selected to develop, strategize
scheduling and marketing of centennial activities and
events with city leaders, the community and city staff.
• These are estimated costs for this fiscal year.
• Work needs to continue on the planning, coordination
and marketing of the centennial community events.

• CE Group has vast experience in event planning
locally and throughout the Country
• Some Local events planned by the CE Group include,
Siclovia, Luminaria, Central library, Doseum,
Convention Center and the Men’s and Women’s final
four

• Preliminary planning includes:
• Kick-off with the city sponsored 5K during Fiesta, photo
exhibits at city hall during the month of June, further
promotion at July 4th parade and weeklong activities in
October
• Street event in October, National Night Out, tour of
homes, carriage rides, and culminating event with a
possible fireworks show - TBD - still in planning

• Other advertising such as street banners - already in
place
• Continued study of other promotional opportunities
• CE group and staff also working for sponsors for
some of the events

8. POLICY ANALYSIS
• Consistent with the Strategic Action Plan to celebrate and
commemorate Alamo Heights’ 100-year anniversary.
• Funds are available in the current budget.
• City hired planner for 50 year anniversary in 1972

9. FISCAL IMPACT
• Council budgeted $20,000 in FY 22
• Council approved a budge amendment of $80,000
in December 2021 - Total planning budget currently
$100,000 with amendment
• CE Group proposal for phase II is $39,500
