2. SUMMARY
• City retained The CE Group in June 2021 &
January 2022 to assist in planning of the 100-
year anniversary of the incorporation of Alamo
Heights
• Funding agreement for final planning & execution
of culminating event, Centennial Fest
• Centennial events October 1st to October 12th,
2022

3. BACKGROUND
• CE Group selected to develop, strategize scheduling
and marketing of centennial activities and events
with city leaders, the community and city staff.
• Work to continue on the planning, coordination and
marketing of culminating event, Centennial Fest
• Event scheduled for Saturday, October 8th, 2PM to
8:30PM
• Weather back up date is October 15th, 2PM to 8:30PM

• CE Group has vast experience in event planning locally
and throughout the Country
• Some Local events planned by the CE Group
• Siclovia
• Luminaria
• Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon/Half Marathon
• Central Library
• Doseum
• Convention Center
• Men’s and Women’s Final Four
• Spurs Championship Parades

5. BACKGROUND
• Finalize all planning-related costs for Centennial Fest
• Rental deposits – portable restrooms, equipment rentals, signage
• Support for cleaning & other day-of events
• Additional expenses not covered under agreement
• Entertainment, games, food, music, The Army Golden Knights &
Fireworks show
• In FY 2023 Budget in separate expense – paid directly to vendors
• Several sponsors have contributed toward celebration

• Yappy Hour at Bark Park – Oct. 1, 2 & 9, 1PM – 3PM
• Centennial 5K Fun Run at City Hall – Oct. 1, 8AM
• Trailgate at Jack Judson Nature Trails – Oct. 1, 5:30PM – 7:30PM
• Movie Night at Jack Judson Nature Trails – Oct. 1, 7:30PM
• National Night Out at City Hall – Oct. 4, 5:30pm – 7:30PM
• Fire/Safety Education Classes at City Hall – Oct. 6, 5PM – 7PM
• Centennial Fest at Little League Baseball Fields – Oct. 8, 2PM-8:30 PM
• Argyle Event – Oct. 11, 4:30PM – 7:30PM
• Alamo Heights Howdy Parade – Oct. 12, 4:30PM

7. POLICY ANALYSIS
• Consistent with the Strategic Action Plan to celebrate and
commemorate Alamo Heights’ 100-year anniversary.
• Funds are available in the current budget.
• City hired planner for 50 year anniversary in 1972

8. FISCAL IMPACT
• CE Group funding agreement for celebration
planning & execution not to exceed $31,000
• Budgeted in City’s Budget
• On January 10, 2022, Council approved agreement
with CE Group for $39,500 to begin Centennial
preparation
• Includes $10,000 in-kind donation from CE Group
