This student took an online ITEC 299 class and chose the learning warrior pathway. They discovered that they have a strong preference for active and visual learning styles. They found the quizzes and exploring familiar technologies like iPods and video games to be the most helpful activities. Overall, the student feels they gained useful knowledge about learning preferences, technologies, and physiological factors that impact learning, which they will be able to apply to improve their education and career prospects in the future. They are glad they took the class to expand their understanding of the different aspects of learning.

PRESENTATION

2. To be honest, I had to drop a class and did not know
what other class to take so I figured online would be the best
option. When I checked out this class I saw that it was as well
three units which pretty much made my decision. After looking
at the description I did not know what to expect but I figured it
can only benefit me. Also, being in soccer having this online
class actually benefitted me greatly.

3. I never really understood my personally
learning preferences, or even thought about them
until I entered this class. When I scored an 11 which
was the highest for active I was a little surprised but as
I thought about it not really. I would and always will
rather look being doing something instead of waiting
on others and reflect on them. I scored a 5 on
intuitive which gradually changed overtime but only
because I grew a greater sense in sensory. My 5 on
visual over verbal actual grew in a higher number as I
realized I would much rather look at a picture over
paragraph. For sequential and global, they have
both stayed mutual with I only learning more about
each.

4. When learning about learning preferences and what they are
I realized how I as a student can really benefit from knowing what my
preferences may be. I feel that the need to know what your
preferences are should be great, especially for all students. In knowing
what my learning preferences were I was able to adjust my learning
style and hopefully greater my education. The overall concept of
learning preferences is interesting, but as interesting as it is, it is as well
useful, so use it.

5. At the beginning of class we were asked to pick a learning
pathway in which we were interested in and thought would be best for us.
When reading over what a learning warrior was I thought that was what
interested me the most. The ability to expand your knowledge greater on
something you already were using was what I was looking for. In the end
this pathway was the right one to choose for me and I easily benefitted as
a student.

6. Throughout this class we completed many technologies and quests which
consisted of different activities. Some activities were helpful and I found very useful
while others were very confusing and hard to understand. The activities I benefitted
greatly from were the quizzes. Having the quizzes at the end of each section gave a
little reminder that you actually need to learn the lecture and cant skip through. The
activities I di not find so helpful were the forums but only some in which I did not
understand the use of technology. The microblog was a technology I mainly struggled
with.

7. The top technologies I explored were probably the
technologies I was already familiar with. My number one
foremost was iPod and mp3 players because I use a iPod
daily. Getting greater technology on this only helps me
everyday in life so I was greatly interested. My next
technology would be games and MMOG’s. Growing up me
and my brother were in love with video games like
everyone else so realizing how we can use them to help us
benefit in learning intrigued me. Lastly my final top
technology would be the Multimedia. Being such a visual
leaner I love seeing visuals instead of constantly reading.
Learning on how its all produced gave me the interest into
this technology.

8. Going through the different technologies we learned was really
intriguing to me and gave me a whole new look on the student I am.
Knowing what goes into the human mind when learning and what
triggers it is amazing. I gained knowledge on how to not only better
myself as a learner but as well person later on in life. With every
technology being different you are expanding you're knowledge
greatly. Learning them showed me how to use technology in many more
aspects than before.

9. In knowing more about my physiological factors
I was able to help myself out greatly this semester. I
knew that having a problem with sleeping and waking
up early always made me a worse student so for
registration I took that in mind. For my finals I as well
used my knowledge on these factors. Each final I made
sure I ate a healthy breakfast and was well rested. It is
not only mentally in learning, but as well what you do
physically.

10. Everything I learned in this class, I can actually say I will use
in the future. I was taught about technologies that are so popular
in our society already and how I will benefit from knowing about
them in the future. My number one thing I will take from this class
and learning about the type of leaner I am, would be my
physiological factors and how to better them as I go on. To get a
better job and future I need to adjust to my factors and progress
forward.

11. In choosing learning warrior I can
easily say my experience as w hole was good
and well worth it. I was able to learn more
about technologies that I use daily and find
very interesting. In finding out the different
features iPod and mp3 players have I was
able to expand my knowledge and use is
more as a student. In the end I am glad I took
this class to realize the different aspects put
into learning and how important every one is.
