Head of IT (Retail) is required by globally renowned and highly prestigious Retail brand. The Head of IT will To lead
the IT Solutions & Services Delivery teams in defining, developing, implementing and supporting all aspects of
software solutions, applications and services in support of the business strategic plan and objectives. Based in
central London and offers a basic salary between £35-40k + excellent benefits package
The Head of IT will be responsible for continual improvement of an efficient and effective IT infrastructure across the
business estate supporting IT services for stores, Date Centre, Head office and website. You will oversee
maintenance of an effective support structure providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support for all IT services following ITIL
best practice for incident, problem, change, configuration and security management against agreed SLAs.
As Head of IT you will be tasked with the innovation and the changing technology landscape to advise the business
on opportunities and risks within use and development of software applications and services. You will engage with
the IT and business incept, develop and manage software applications and solutions that support the business
strategic plan in line with the financial budgeting process.
The successful applicant for the Head of IT position will have a background working in the Retail or Ecommerce/ Ecommerce industry, as well as possessing experience in a Head of IT/ Head of Technology/ Senior IT management
position. You will have commercial understanding of the Software development lifecycle as well as managing
complex Infrastructure systems. Working knowledge of EPOS/ POS/ Point of Sale or other related Retail systems is
also required. The following experience will also be needed:
- Extensive experience managing complex IT environments, projects or programmes within Retail or Ecommerce/ eCommerce industry
- Relevant experience managing complex infrastructure and service functions within the Retail industry
- Experience of managing diverse teams of solutions & service personnel covering all aspects of IT solutions,
infrastructure and services
- Thorough knowledge of alternative software development lifecycles
- Working knowledge of EPOS/ POS/ Point of Sale systems
- Understanding of other development languages and processes
- Thorough knowledge of ITIL best practice service management
- Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure/ security
- Good understanding of Prince 2 Project Delivery methodology
- Experience of the service management covering all aspects of ITIL service provision

2. Junior IT Helpdesk Analyst / IT Procurement Administrator

Junior IT Helpdesk Analyst/IT Procurement Administrator
£18,000 - Wakefield, West Yorkshire
My client has an opening for a Junior Helpdesk Analyst. Your IT Duties will include password resets,Active Directory
Administration and Folder Access. You will also have the responsibility of liaising with procurement to ensure
supplies are replenished and relationships with IT suppliers are maintained. These suppliers will currently be
providing the customer with computer Hardware,software and consumables.
This role will be ideal for an individual who is currently either in an apprentice style IT Role with a minimum of 1
years experience working in a help desk arena or an individual who is currently in a Junior Procurement role with a
keen interest in IT.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-The procurement analyst must work with the Group IT Services Support Manager to help develop and stay within
the budget.
-The procurement analyst must be able to study sale records, inventory levels and . replenishment cycles.
-The procurement analyst follows the business's goals, policies and procedures when making purchases.
-Must be able to research and negotiate prices, make and maintain vendor relationships. The procurement analyst
negotiates fair prices with vendors and coordinates the delivery of services or goods.
-He/she follows up to make sure goods are delivered as promised.
-The procurement analyst keeps records of suppliers and intervenes if problems arise concerning shipments, prices
or products.
-A procurement analyst must have a strong background in mathematics and communications skills.
-Work with the Service Desk to ensure all requests meet our targets.

3. IT support technician/consultant
Salary:£22-£27k
Due to continued expansion, HW Technology are looking to employ an IT support technician/consultant to join the
existing team in Leyland.
Reporting to the support team manager and directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing
accurate and timely IT support services to a range of clients operating a variety of systems and software as part of a
wider team of technicians.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
* Desktop, peripheral and user support including troubleshooting
* General office software support.
* General software support and liaison with third party vendors as required
* Maintenance and management of Windows servers from 2003-2012 and Small Business Servers
* Management of AD and windows domains
* Some management of MS Exchange and MS SQL server
* Deployment of hardware and software, mainly Intel and Microsoft based
* Management and maintenance of backup solutions
* Some onsite client work as required
* Occasional quoting/pricing work as required
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following technical skills:
* Strong knowledge of all MS desktop operating systems from XP onwards
* Experience of all MS Server products from 2003-2012
* Strong levels of experience of Remote Desktop environments (specifically windows RDS)
* Experience of Backup Exec (all recent versions)
* Some knowledge of MS Exchange, preferably including deployment
* Some knowledge of management of MS SQL server
* Experience of Dell hardware including desktops, laptops and servers
Also, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a high level of ability in the following:
* Ticket management including ownership of problems until resolved
* Awareness of client needs and expectations and be able to deliver consistent levels of service
* A strong sense of responsibility and adherence to ethical support practices
* Ability to provide support without excessive technical jargon
* Be able to work as part of a close knit team of support consultants
* Be able to work on their own
Whilst not essential for the role, experience of the following would be advantageous:
* Knowledge of Autotask Professional Services software
* Experience of EMC and Dell SAN storage systems
* Experience of virtualisation, in particular using VMWare
* Experience of troubleshooting/installation of Accountancy software (Sage/Iris)
* Experience of Sharepoint (deployment, development and design)
* System design and deployment experience
* Experience of working with a wide variety of clients and systems in a multi-client environment
* Any coding experience and knowledge
* Experience of project management on any reasonable scale
* Be able to communicate clearly and concisely at all times and to be able to plan and organise your own workloads
Whilst we do not specifically require any formal qualifications for the role, some MS based training/qualifications
may be needed in the future and if appropriate, training leading to MS qualifications may be required of you. It may
be advantageous if candidates have appropriate existing MS qualifications.
Occasional travel may be required. Car and driving licence not essential but may be advantageous.
