This document compares the definitions of cloud computing in ISO/IEC 17788 and NIST. It outlines the 6 key characteristics of cloud computing according to ISO/IEC 17788, which are the same as NIST's 5 essential characteristics with the addition of multi-tenancy. The 4 deployment models of public, private, community, and hybrid clouds are also the same in both standards. Finally, it explains that while NIST defines 3 cloud service types, ISO/IEC 17788 defines 3 capabilities types with additional cloud service categories.
