- The ISA Commons initiative was started in 2003 and has continued to evolve, powering data collection, curation of resources, and repositories. - It provides a model and infrastructure for annotating scientific experiments according to the Investigation-Study-Assay (ISA) framework. - The ISA Commons aims to make data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Re-usable (FAIR) by converting ISA metadata into Resource Description Framework (RDF) representations linked to relevant ontologies through an automated mapping process.
