This presentation provides an overview of irrigation in Bangladesh. It discusses the sources of irrigation water, including surface water sources like canals, low lift pumps, and traditional manual pumping, as well as groundwater sources like deep tube wells, shallow tube wells, and hand tube wells. In total, irrigation covers around 36.9 million hectares of land in Bangladesh. The presentation also outlines the history of irrigation development and commonly used irrigation projects, devices, and methods in the country. It concludes by noting challenges facing the Muhuri Irrigation Project in Feni district.
