SCOPE VIDS
IRON MAIDEN
+ Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band.
+ The band’s discography has grown to 40
albums, including 16 studio albums, 13 live
albums, 4 EPs and 7 compilations.
+ They began in 1975 and achieved initial success
in the early 1980s.
HOME PAGE
ARTIST NAME/LOGO
+ In the top left corner of the home page, we see the band name in their
specific font.
+ The font is called Metal Lord and has become a part of their brand.
+ It is red with a white outline.
+ It’s large and bold enough but not overpowering.

+ There are currently 3 different
images which alternate when on
the home page.

+ The first slide is promoting their new album, Nights of the Dead - Legacy
of the Beast: Live in Mexico City
+ The background is of a city on fire, people on horses and skeletons with
devil horns. This clearly reflects the target audience (older male), whilst
also drawing in their secondary target audience (younger male).
+ On top of this, there is the album cover, which the background ties into
with additional features, such as their mascot, Eddie.
+ To the left, we have an interactive button where the viewer can “read
more”. This is extremely accessible.
BACKGROUND
IMAGE
+ The next slide is promoting their 2021 European tour,
Legacy of the Beast.
+ The background is a royal blue with some smokey
aspects and explosions. We have Eddie holding a
bloody sword, with light shining from behind him.
+ Yet again, we have the “read more” button.

+ The last slide is promoting their game, Legacy of the Beast.
+ The background has a vignette effect, where Eddie has light
shining behind him. Other features in this slide include the
burnt city, a purple tiger, cheetah mix, skeletons, a cross and a
golden angel.
+ Like the last two, we have the accessible ”read more” button.
USE OF FRAMES
+ The only part of the screen that stays where
it is when you scroll down is the top banner.
+ This makes navigating the website much
easier.
AD BANNER
+ The ads that pop up are different to most
artists websites.
+ It is little figurines of characters/monsters in
the bottom left corner which move to
advertise their game.
SOCIAL MEDIA
+ On the home page, they have their social medias
under their top links as well as a running feed of
their Twitter to provide the latest tweets.
+ Their social media is also linked at the bottom,
which are: Twitter, Facebook, Bandsintown,
YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, Email and Apple
Music.
+ These social media’s are linked as little icons.
SITE DESIGNER
+The website was designed and developed by Keane Creative Ltd.
LATEST NEWS
+ On the home page, there is a large section
devoted to the latest news.
+ It is next to the running Twitter feed.
+ It mainly shows the image and the title, with
a few lines description in a small font and a
big “read more” button.
LATEST VIDEO
+ Underneath the Latest News and Latest Tweets, there
is a large section devoted to the Latest Video.
+ The main video shown is “Bruce unboxes Nights of
the Dead”.
+ Underneath there are two other boxes to press to
watch other videos being, “Talking music with Adrian
Smith – ‘Gangland’” and “Message from Bruce”.
MAIN SECTIONS
+Iron Maiden’s website has 10 main sections, being Home, News,
Tours, Media, Discography, The Band, Shop, Fanclub, Game and
Comic.
+This is quite a lot of top links, especially if we include the icon to
make an account and the search icon, but it doesn’t look
cluttered and it is still user friendly.
NEWS
+ The news tab has a dark black background
with white speckles.
+ The most recent story is placed as a banner
above the other news.
+ The rest of the news is laid out in 2 rows of
4 (which is just 1 page out of 123!)
TOURS
+ The Tours page shows the tour dates and
venues as well as a link to buy tickets.
+ There is a banner above this which has the
specific tour art for that tour.
+ Underneath, there is an option to select a
tour, where you can see where Iron Maiden
have been in the past, as well as their
previous tour art.
MEDIA
+ The Media page also has the black speckled
background.
+ This page is dedicated to pictures from each
tour.
+ There is an option to select which tour you
wish to view.
DISCOGRAPHY
+The Discography top link gives the viewer three options.
+The options are to go to studio albums, singles & live albums or
DVDs.
STUDIO ALBUMS
+ In the studio albums link, it shows 16 album covers.
+ When you put your curser over an album, it shows the
name of the album and date when it was released.
+ When you click on an album, it shows the album
cover, track list, release date, producers, studio,
recording studio, where to buy it and an option to
share.
SINGLES & LIVE ALBUMS
+ In this page, there are 43 singles laid
out on the black speckled background
which is above 9 live albums laid out on
a white speckled background.
+ When you put your curser over the
singles, it shows the title and date but
you cannot click on them.
+ When you put your curser over the live
albums, it shows the title and date and
you can click on them.
+ When you click on it, it shows the
album cover, track list, release date,
studio, recording studio, where to buy
and gives an option to share.
DVDS
+ In this page, there are 7 DVD covers laid out.
+ When you put your curser over the cover, it
shows the title and release date.
+ When you click on the cover, it shows the
cover, what’s on the discs, the release date,
the producers, the studio, where it was
recorded and gives an option to share.
THE BAND
+ The Band top link gives two different
options, The Band and Ed Force One.
+ When on The Band page, there is an
image of the 6 current members and
a lengthy biography on the band’s
history and where they are now.
+ Ed Force One is Iron Maiden’s
branded plane which fans all know
and love. It is such a big part of Iron
Maiden that it’s in The Band
category.
SHOP
+ The Iron Maiden shop holds many different
items of merch ranging from snow globes
to their own beer.
+ Here is the all departments tab:
FANCLUB
+ The Fanclub tab has 6 different options
being, Membership, Forum, Presales,
FC Inbox, FTTB and Shop FC Exclusives.
+ The Membership tab shows what the
membership includes and the prices
underneath.
+ FTTB means First To The Barrier so Iron
Maiden fans can get the best seats in
the house.
+ The Shop FC Exclusives tab shows what
only members can buy from a different
shop.
COMIC
+ Iron Maiden has their own 5 issue comic.

Iron maiden website

  • 2. IRON MAIDEN + Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band. + The band’s discography has grown to 40 albums, including 16 studio albums, 13 live albums, 4 EPs and 7 compilations. + They began in 1975 and achieved initial success in the early 1980s.
  • 4. ARTIST NAME/LOGO + In the top left corner of the home page, we see the band name in their specific font. + The font is called Metal Lord and has become a part of their brand. + It is red with a white outline. + It’s large and bold enough but not overpowering.
  • 5. BACKGROUND IMAGE + There are currently 3 different images which alternate when on the home page.
  • 6. BACKGROUND IMAGE + The first slide is promoting their new album, Nights of the Dead - Legacy of the Beast: Live in Mexico City + The background is of a city on fire, people on horses and skeletons with devil horns. This clearly reflects the target audience (older male), whilst also drawing in their secondary target audience (younger male). + On top of this, there is the album cover, which the background ties into with additional features, such as their mascot, Eddie. + To the left, we have an interactive button where the viewer can “read more”. This is extremely accessible.
  • 7. BACKGROUND IMAGE + The next slide is promoting their 2021 European tour, Legacy of the Beast. + The background is a royal blue with some smokey aspects and explosions. We have Eddie holding a bloody sword, with light shining from behind him. + Yet again, we have the “read more” button.
  • 8. BACKGROUND IMAGE + The last slide is promoting their game, Legacy of the Beast. + The background has a vignette effect, where Eddie has light shining behind him. Other features in this slide include the burnt city, a purple tiger, cheetah mix, skeletons, a cross and a golden angel. + Like the last two, we have the accessible ”read more” button.
  • 9. USE OF FRAMES + The only part of the screen that stays where it is when you scroll down is the top banner. + This makes navigating the website much easier.
  • 10. AD BANNER + The ads that pop up are different to most artists websites. + It is little figurines of characters/monsters in the bottom left corner which move to advertise their game.
  • 11. SOCIAL MEDIA + On the home page, they have their social medias under their top links as well as a running feed of their Twitter to provide the latest tweets. + Their social media is also linked at the bottom, which are: Twitter, Facebook, Bandsintown, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, Email and Apple Music. + These social media’s are linked as little icons.
  • 12. SITE DESIGNER +The website was designed and developed by Keane Creative Ltd.
  • 13. LATEST NEWS + On the home page, there is a large section devoted to the latest news. + It is next to the running Twitter feed. + It mainly shows the image and the title, with a few lines description in a small font and a big “read more” button.
  • 14. LATEST VIDEO + Underneath the Latest News and Latest Tweets, there is a large section devoted to the Latest Video. + The main video shown is “Bruce unboxes Nights of the Dead”. + Underneath there are two other boxes to press to watch other videos being, “Talking music with Adrian Smith – ‘Gangland’” and “Message from Bruce”.
  • 15. MAIN SECTIONS +Iron Maiden’s website has 10 main sections, being Home, News, Tours, Media, Discography, The Band, Shop, Fanclub, Game and Comic. +This is quite a lot of top links, especially if we include the icon to make an account and the search icon, but it doesn’t look cluttered and it is still user friendly.
  • 16. NEWS + The news tab has a dark black background with white speckles. + The most recent story is placed as a banner above the other news. + The rest of the news is laid out in 2 rows of 4 (which is just 1 page out of 123!)
  • 17. TOURS + The Tours page shows the tour dates and venues as well as a link to buy tickets. + There is a banner above this which has the specific tour art for that tour. + Underneath, there is an option to select a tour, where you can see where Iron Maiden have been in the past, as well as their previous tour art.
  • 18. MEDIA + The Media page also has the black speckled background. + This page is dedicated to pictures from each tour. + There is an option to select which tour you wish to view.
  • 19. DISCOGRAPHY +The Discography top link gives the viewer three options. +The options are to go to studio albums, singles & live albums or DVDs.
  • 20. STUDIO ALBUMS + In the studio albums link, it shows 16 album covers. + When you put your curser over an album, it shows the name of the album and date when it was released. + When you click on an album, it shows the album cover, track list, release date, producers, studio, recording studio, where to buy it and an option to share.
  • 21. SINGLES & LIVE ALBUMS + In this page, there are 43 singles laid out on the black speckled background which is above 9 live albums laid out on a white speckled background. + When you put your curser over the singles, it shows the title and date but you cannot click on them. + When you put your curser over the live albums, it shows the title and date and you can click on them. + When you click on it, it shows the album cover, track list, release date, studio, recording studio, where to buy and gives an option to share.
  • 22. DVDS + In this page, there are 7 DVD covers laid out. + When you put your curser over the cover, it shows the title and release date. + When you click on the cover, it shows the cover, what’s on the discs, the release date, the producers, the studio, where it was recorded and gives an option to share.
  • 23. THE BAND + The Band top link gives two different options, The Band and Ed Force One. + When on The Band page, there is an image of the 6 current members and a lengthy biography on the band’s history and where they are now. + Ed Force One is Iron Maiden’s branded plane which fans all know and love. It is such a big part of Iron Maiden that it’s in The Band category.
  • 24. SHOP + The Iron Maiden shop holds many different items of merch ranging from snow globes to their own beer. + Here is the all departments tab:

FANCLUB + The Fanclub tab has 6 different options being, Membership, Forum, Presales, FC Inbox, FTTB and Shop FC Exclusives. + The Membership tab shows what the membership includes and the prices underneath. + FTTB means First To The Barrier so Iron Maiden fans can get the best seats in the house. + The Shop FC Exclusives tab shows what only members can buy from a different shop.
  • 26. COMIC + Iron Maiden has their own 5 issue comic. + This page shows where to buy their comics as well as a pre-order for issue #5.
