New research - what exactly are charities trusted to do?nfpSynergy
Charities are seen as accurate and unbiased sources of information, ranking second after family and friends. People who run charities are also seen as trusted sources to comment on UK policy issues. While charities are trusted to have a positive impact on society, they are less trusted to use personal data wisely. There is a preference for policy decisions to be backed by expert evidence, though ordinary people want their views considered as well. Trust in charities and experts varies between those who voted Leave or Remain in the Brexit referendum.

Today, online marketing options offer us a free way to keep in touch with our current spheres and reach potential new clients, but the rules are different. This new school of marketing, with its multitude of social media platforms and opportunities, requires a new kind of marketing savvy and can be overwhelming to navigate. - By default, EIGRP has auto summarization enabled which summarizes routes to classful boundaries, but this can cause issues, so EIGRP allows manual summarization at arbitrary boundaries using the ip summary-address command.
- Manual summarization can be configured on any router or interface in an EIGRP domain. A summary route will exist as long as there is at least one more specific route; if the last specific route disappears, the summary will also disappear.
- The document provides an example configuration of EIGRP routing between four routers (R1, R2, R3, R4) with the configuration of manual summarization on R2's S0/0 interface to summarize routes
This document provides an executive summary of a report from the independent Mental Health Taskforce to the NHS in England. It summarizes the current state of mental health in England, noting that 1 in 4 adults experience a diagnosable mental health problem each year. It also discusses policy context and initiatives over the past 50 years. Key points made include that half of all mental health problems emerge by age 14, and 1 in 10 children have a diagnosable mental health problem. It recommends providing equal status and funding for mental and physical health in the NHS to improve mental health care.

For later life: Better health and care in tough timesIpsos UK
This document summarizes public opinion research from Ipsos MORI on issues related to care for older people in the UK. Some key findings include:
- There is low awareness and preparation among the public around paying for social care services when older. Few have thought about or started financially preparing.
- Care for people with dementia is seen as particularly poor by the public.
- While the public supports reforming the care and support system, there are divisions around who should receive support and how it should be determined.
- Spending on care for the elderly is already seen as one of the top areas that should be protected from budget cuts.
- Overall change is coming to the system but public opinion has not
The world is becoming easier to understand through numbers. They can tell us how much an individual makes in a country, how many people are in that country, and how long these people can expect to live on average. But what about the more subjective concepts? How do we measure and understand happiness? Success? Gallup-Healthway's Global Well-Being Index has broken it down to people’s perception of five key elements in their life.

Public perceptions and awareness of NHS England's calorie reduction programme Ipsos UK
An Ipsos MORI survey, commissioned by Public Health England (PHE), explored the public’s perceptions of obesity and PHE’s sugar and calorie reduction programmes. Our findings highlight that the public clearly recognise obesity to be a problem facing the UK (93% say it is a problem). The public bestow the government (72%) and the food industry (80%) with responsibility for tackling obesity, albeit less responsibility than individuals and their families (90%). The predominant view is that the government could do more to address the issue of obesity (60%). There is also strong public support for the government to work with the food industry, in order to make foods and drinks healthier.
With the NHS as the main area of public interest in the run-up to the 2015 general election, the Health Foundation and Ipsos MORI have conducted just under 1,800 interviews with adults across Great Britain to understand what the public thinks about the issues that are shaping debate on the NHS.

This document discusses trends in health engagement and the role of health information influencers. It finds that while most people are involved with health issues, a smaller group (about 1 in 5) are highly engaged, sharing health information frequently. This highly engaged group, called "Health Info-entials", is more influential and trusting of health organizations. The document advocates for building trust through authentic engagement focused on personal health concerns to increase engagement.
The proposed federal budget would significantly cut funding to major public health agencies and programs like the CDC, NIH, Medicaid, and EPA. The CDC budget would be cut by 17% which a former CDC director said would force them to fight epidemics and health threats with both hands tied behind their back while wearing a blindfold. The budget also cuts Medicaid by $800 billion over 10 years which could impact access to care. Several state marketplaces also proposed substantial premium increases for plans purchased under the Affordable Care Act.
Integrating Behavioral Health into Primary Care – Thought Leaders in Populati...Epstein Becker Green
Although mental health and substance abuse (behavioral health) services have historically been segregated from traditional medical care, its impact on patients’ well-being, physical health and cost-of-care has become increasingly critical to improving clinical quality outcomes while significantly decreasing financial costs by tens of billions of dollars. Drs. Daviss and Coleman will discuss the advances in policy and practice regarding the integration of behavioral health with physical health, as well as some of the gaps in identifying, aggregating, and analyzing data critical to a more holistic and comprehensive view of the individual.
In addition, the speakers will:
* Identify the clinical, legal, social, and financial impacts of behavioral health disorders on chronic medical conditions.
* Describe the challenges involved in improving clinical and financial outcomes in patients with chronic medical conditions who also have behavioral health symptoms and/or conditions.
* Demonstrate the rewards for implementing new information technology applications and analysis for better clinical and financial outcomes for these specific populations.

Americans' Experience with the Health Care System in 2018Anne Marie Moran
The document summarizes key findings from an Ipsos study on Americans' health care experiences. Some of the main findings include:
- Americans are very concerned about health care costs, more so than other expenses like retirement or college. Premiums, deductibles, and co-pays are the top cost concerns.
- Over half of Americans say their out-of-pocket health care costs have increased in the past two years. Younger generations and those with private insurance see more cost increases.
- Americans mostly blame health insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies for rising out-of-pocket costs. The federal government is also seen as responsible by some.
- Overall quality of U.S. health care
Mental illnesses are highly prevalent worldwide but most countries allocate less than 2% of their health budgets to mental health. Effective and low-cost treatments are available but there is a treatment gap of over 75% in many low- and middle-income countries. Investing in mental health is important for several reasons: the burden of mental illness is huge and costs societies enormous amounts, mental health is essential for economic development, and some interventions have been shown to be highly cost-effective "best buys" that can reduce future health costs. Without adequate investment in mental health services and supports, individuals and societies cannot reach their full potential.
The document discusses the results of the 2014 Pfizer Health Index survey on the impacts of austerity measures and recession in Ireland. Key findings include:
- Nearly 3 in 10 adults felt the recession negatively impacted their personal health, most commonly among those aged 35-64 and from lower socioeconomic groups.
- Over half felt healthcare cuts have had the greatest impact, while nearly a quarter cited social welfare cuts. Education cuts also impacted over 70%.
- When prioritizing the reversal of austerity measures, most chose healthcare cuts, especially those benefiting families with young children.
- There is strong support for universal healthcare access in Ireland.
NHS workforce - Omnibus Survey by Ipsos MORIIpsos UK
A recent Omnibus survey by Ipsos MORI shows that four in five (79%) believe that the NHS does not have enough staff to provide a good service, only 7% believe that it has the right amount, while 6% think it has too many. Therefore, pessimism about the future of staff shortages comes as no great surprise. Overall, 56% believe that staff shortages will get worse over the next few years and this rises to 64% among those who think there are currently not enough staff.
Just over four in five (83%) also believe that NHS staff are currently overworked. The pre-war generation are less likely to believe this than younger generations, with only 69% agreeing compared with 84% to 85% across younger generations.
With widespread belief that NHS staff are overworked and that this is likely to get worse, it is perhaps unsurprising that only half of the public (50%) would encourage a friend or family member to consider a career in the NHS. Those close to the NHS (i.e. those who either work in the NHS or have a close family member or friend working for the NHS) are more likely to suggest it as a career path than those that do not have a connection (57% and 47% respectively). Similarly, three in five of those that are close to the NHS (60%) believe that it is a good employer, while this decreases to half of those without an affiliation (50%).
This document summarizes a newsletter from the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Berks County, PA. It includes announcements about upcoming support groups and courses. It also summarizes an article about how mental illness is much more prevalent among low-income individuals. Finally, it provides a summary of a document written by a forensic psychologist about the intersection of mental illness and the criminal justice system, noting that better training of police and judges is needed to properly identify and treat individuals with mental illnesses.
This document provides a demographic analysis and market analysis for an proposed ACO (Accountable Care Organization) healthcare campus on the Southside of Pittsburgh. The demographic analysis finds that the Southside lacks proper access to major hospitals, with the closest being 10 minutes away. The market analysis determines there is a large target market of females ages 40-45 on the Southside based on demographic data. The proposed ACO campus would include a hospital, outpatient clinic, assisted living facility, and long-term care to improve coordination of care for residents and reduce costs.
Marc Bush: Public expectations of the NHS QualityWatch
Changing landscapes, changing expectations summarizes key facts about health and social care in the UK:
- Demand is growing due to an aging population, with the NHS seeing 27,000 patients per hour and over 5 million adults providing unpaid care.
- The health and social care systems are undergoing significant changes through new legislation that the public remains confused by.
- While most people report satisfaction, deeper surveys found 1 in 3 experienced a serious mistake or abuse, and over half did nothing to report problems.
- A new vision outlines 8 consumer rights for health and social care to better meet changing public expectations.

The document summarizes views from an Ipsos online community on Brexit 5 years after the referendum vote. Most people feel they have not noticed significant changes from Brexit yet and think the pandemic has overshadowed its effects. While some notice higher costs or shipping delays from EU countries, many are still confused about attributing rising prices to Brexit or Covid. There remains a divide between those who voted Leave and Remain, with both sides still convinced of their views despite most saying they have not been personally affected much either way. Overall, uncertainty persists around how Brexit will truly impact daily life.

Overall Brexit continued to lead the conversation in November – however there was a 59% increase in NHS related mentions vs. October. This was driven in part by Corbyn revealing documents that he says indicate a Conservative government would sell off the NHS as part of a US trade deal.
The general election, which is the focus of our deep dive this month, as well as the London Bridge terror attack - both contributed to sizeable shifts in social conversation.
Following the ITV Leaders Debate, there was a sharp increase in conversation around the general election. The release of the Labour and Conservative manifestos seeing further spikes in volume towards the end of November.
When comparing Johnson and Corbyn activity on Twitter in November there were some notable differences in the focus of their posts. Whilst Brexit was mentioned across 42% of Johnson’s tweets – it was only mentioned within 6% of Corbyn’s. Corbyn focused mainly on the NHS, which was mentioned in just over a third of his tweets.
