LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Patient Confidentiality
As healthcare providers, maintaining a patient s confidentiality, human dignity and privacy is

The Coded of Ethics for Nurses is the framework of nonnegotiable ethical standards and obligations
that all nurses are to uphold. Nurses are to be accountable for their actions and are expected to
advocate and strive to protect the rights, health and safety of patients (American Nurses
Association, 2011).

According to the ANA (American Nurses Association), it is the duty of nurse to protect the patient
s rights, safety, health and advocate for the patient. By treating the patient in an open area, invades
their privacy, can cause embarrassment and most of all jeopardize trust between the patient and
care giver. This negligent care could also lead to legal ramifications in the future against the hospital
. By breaking this trust, the patient may also omit valuable information that could affect their
treatment ultimately causing them harm. Some patients may become noncompliant with their
prescribed treatment. It is essential that effective communication between patient and care provider

As an effective and ethical leader, it is of most importance that they create and foster an ethically
principled environment. In this scenario, the importance of patient confidentiality would be
identified and addressed with all staff members of the health team. Ethical behaviors would be
discussed with each team member in order to ensure that the healthcare needs of the patient are

would be identified by assigned numbers instead of identified by name. Also it would be enforced
that no patient be treated in an open area unless some

Jiro Dreams of Sushi
Jiro Dreams of Sushi is an American documentary directed by David Gelb. The film follows the
story of Jiro Ono, an 85 year old sushi master and his two sons, Yoshikazu, and Takashi, both of
whom are also sushi chefs. For 40 years Jiro, a three Michelin Star chef, has been crafting
immaculate sushi in a ten seat restaurant on the second floor of a Tokyo subwaystation. Sukiyabashi
Jiro is small, and to savor the 20 piece menu of sushi, customers must pay 30,000 yen (368 dollars)
and make reservations a month in advance. Throughout the documentary, Gelb not only examines
Jiro s work ethic, but also explores subjects of family code of honor, passions, and life.

He is a blissful craftsman who truly enjoys his work, which keeps him vital at his age. Once you
decide on your occupation, says Jiro, you must immerse yourself in your work and never
complain (Iwashina, Pellegrini, Ono, 2011). Jiro considers this to be the secret to success and
the key to being regarded honorably. Set in Japanese context, the film is a fine representation of
culinary practice and work ethics. Apprentices must work long hours with modest income, but
the reward lies in the craft itself. The modern socio cultural perception overlooks such belief.
Western culture is more inclined towards making quick money in the shortest period of time.
Tradition and culture are equally significant for Jiro s family. Having worked under his father
since the age of 19, Yoshikazu has become a chef of equal skill. Ironically, he believes himself as
unworthy of his father s legacy. For Japanese families, success is essential, but for Jiro s sons,
success means much more. As Yoshikazu explains, Always look beyond and above yourself.
Always try to improve on yourself. Always strive to elevate your craft. That s what he taught me
(Iwashina, Pellegrini, Ono, 2011). Jiro s success could grant him retirement in an exotic location,
yet he considers his craft his reward in life. His expression of self dedication never waivers. His

Shelia Ager s article, Marriage or mirage? The Phantom Wedding of Cleopatra and Antony, looks
to discuss any evidence for a wedding between Cleopatra VII and Marc Antony and conclude
whether this event really happened or if it is a myth. Cleopatra and Marc Antony famously had an
affair, resulting in children. They lived and planned with one another, presenting themselves as a
couple. They attempted to conquer land with one another, establishing themselves and their
children as the rulers of multiple kingdoms. However, there are disputes over whether a legal
marriageor even a wedding occurred between them. There are no explicit records from ancient
authors about a marriage, and with two highly public figures records should exist. Ager makes...

The Romans had laws against foreign marriages and Cleopatra was nearly the epitome of
everything non Roman. Antony and Octavian had a complicated relationship, ending in
Octavian defeating both him and Cleopatra. Antony knew that marrying Cleopatra before 32 BC
was dangerous, as his wife, Octavia, was Octavian s sister. Having two wives was illegal, but
also abandoning a member of Octavian s family, would have broken the relationship much
quicker. There is no doubt about a relationship between Antony and Cleopatra; they had children
together and presented themselves alongside one another. The coinage of the two can be seen as
them presenting their marriage. On the other hand, it could simply mean that they had a political
relationship more than a romantic relationship. For some, that would mean that they needed to
marry each other. However, for the power that each person held, a marriage would not have been
so heavily enforced. For people of the upper class, some rules dictated by society did not always
apply to them. Modern and ancient ideals about marriage does not translate to every situation
flawlessly. Ager s main point is that there is no hard evidence for a marriage or a wedding,

5. How Does The Roughness Of A Surface Affect The Coefficient...
Discussion Questions: Answer the Testable Question. How does the roughness of a surface affect
the coefficient of static friction and the coefficient of kinetic friction for a block of wood, and how
do these coefficients compare with each other?
From the Results section above, as the roughness of a surface increases, the coefficients of friction
for the block of wood increases. This can be concluded as the surfaces used in order of lowest
roughness to highest roughness were the white surface, wooden surface and lastly the sandpaper
surface had coefficients of friction increasing in the same order. For instance, to compare the
static coefficients of the first trial of each surface in order of roughness, 0.20 0.32. Therefore,
corresponding with the coefficients of static friction, the coefficients of kinetic friction also
increases as the roughness of the surface increases. In conclusion, from the data collected, the
observation was that as the roughness of a surface increases, the coefficient of static friction and
the coefficient of kinetic friction for a block of wood will increase.
In terms of the variables in this experiment, what type of relationship was being tested?
In this experiment, the relationship of the variable force of friction and the coefficient of static and
coefficient of kinetic friction are being tested. From the formula:Ојk=(Ff,k)/Fn, and Ојs=(Ff,s max)
/Fn, the coefficients of friction are equal to the force of friction divided by the normal

established to assist students with college that plan to become a teacher in a high ended field in a

7. Determining The Efficiency Of A Protocol

6.2.1 Simulation matrix
There are number of metrics which are helpful for deciding the efficiency of a protocol. In this
work the parameters used to evaluate the efficiency of a protocol are the packet delivery ratio,
packet statistics in the network and the throughput of the network. The protocols AODV and
AODVBC are checked against these parameters for their performance. Packet delivery ratio of the
network is improved as the mobility with respect to the number of nodes changes. Increase in the
PDR (Packet delivery ratio is because of the less number of packet drops when AODVBC is used.
Fig. 4 justifies the better performance of AODVBC routing protocol over AODV protocol in terms
of less number of packets drop.

caricature instead. Thus, I had some reservations about BatmanBegins from Christopher Nolan
before I first watched it. Nolan proved my concerns completely unfounded.
Batman Begins tells the origin story of Batman, as the title suggests. It shows how Bruce Wayne

did quite well as the head of the U.S. Food Administration in leading the effort to preserve food

15. Egyptian Pyramids And The Pyramids
The Egyptian pyramids were an important aspect of the Egyptian life and culture constructed
around 2500 BCE with their geographical location being at the West bank of the River Nile. The
three pyramids on the Giza plateau were built in a span of three generations by three Pharaohs
namely Khafre, Menkaure and Khufu. These monuments are unsurpassed in terms of height and
mass with the architects of the pyramids building them in a way that they could face the setting
sun as they served as a resting place for the dead. In stead of that, each pyramid acted as a royal
mortuary which included a temple on its base and a causeway which was made out of stone
leading from the east of the plateau. These temples were used by the living to honor the... Show

The completion of the upper hemisphere of the Pantheon is connected to a hypothetical lower
hemisphere that touches the central point of the floor. This central point is referred to as the
Oculus and has an opening of about 8.3 meters wide at the top of the cupola that serves as the
only source of light for the building as shown in figure 1.1. Its basic design was devised in a way
whereby the portico had columns attached to a rotunda with a dome shape. An intermediate block
was put in between the rectilinear portico and the round rotunda to help in transition between the
two. Its walls are made from concrete that is brick faced which was witnessed in most ancient
buildings and the Roman aqua ducts. The concrete of the dome was graded into 6 layers with the
architects mixing scoria and a low density volcanic rock at the top of the dome as derived from Tod
Marder and Mark Wilson. Scholars have indicated that Egypt was a kingdom formed and united
under a single ruler in which the government was centralized thus enhancing engagement between
the political elite and the citizens. Earlier Egyptian Pharaohs had absolute power owing to the fact
that they appointed members of the royal family to prestigious positions but with time the
government positions became hereditary and most of the district

16. Essay On Zero Emissions
Zero Emissions Global warming is a significant issue and the CO2 levels are up in astronomical
proportions; therefore, it does not matter what caused it at this point (Volti, 2014). Scientists can
argue weather man has had a significant influence on the temperature rise all they want; however, it
is a well understood fact that humankind has contributed to the now high levels of CO2 in the air
and humankind cannot continue to pollute the air in such high volume without regard for future
generations. Considering the incredible leap in technology the combustion engine was and the host
of benefits mankind enjoys from it is here to stay, the next leap in technology should revolutionize it
again to perform better and safer without emitting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With over 100 thousand trucks and other vehicles in service around the globe, it has more emission
output than many average sized cities (UPS, 2017). A complete reduction in emissions would be
equivalent to an entire city that stopped using combustion engines. The positive social impact
would make UPS the benchmark of social economic environmental consciousness that every
transportation provider would attempt to emulate. Furthermore, the entire planet would benefit
from such an ecofriendly competition, which will lead to many other health benefits and provide
lasting sustainability of our dwindling fossil fuel resources.
Remarkably, UPS has made considerable strides to improve the fuel efficiency of its trucks with
proprietary algorithms such as its package flow technology, which minimize the distance traveled to
deliver goods continues (Watson, 2017). Utilizing innovation theory to consider its environmental
sustainability, UPS also contributes to improving its bottom line. According to Ribeiro and Szabo
Cherobim (2017) There is no doubt that the environment affects dynamic and strategy of
organizations and understanding the external environment is a fundamental condition for the
organizational survival (p. 31). As UPS replaces existing trucks with fuel efficient models, it not
only caters to its ecofriendly reputation, it saves substantial revenue in fuel costs; therefore, it is

17. Sellar s Myth of the Given
Many empiricists claim that there is a sort of knowledge that is directed towards our
consciousness and this knowledge is assumed to be the given. The given which is held in all of
us has access that is highly privileged and presupposes no learning and no prior form of
associations. It provides the foundation and first layer for empirical knowledge. The knowledge
that is gained through experience and pure reason. Empirical knowledge comes from observation. I
will argue in favor of Sellars rejection of the Given; that the Myth of the Given is truly untenable.
Wilfrid Sellars labeled the existence of such knowledge as the Myth of the Given. When calling
something a myth then that would mean that it does not exist at all. Sellars rejected all the
arguments that were in favor that were put forward in supporting the existence of the given and
claims that empirical knowledge, which has been dictated as rational and has no need for the
given. His position in disregarding the given has been constituted as the main focus of the
philosopher s career. Let s delve straight into why Sellars decided to dismiss the given.
Sellars rejected the idea that knowledge is given. The Myth of the Given plays on the notion that
knowledge is either basic or given . Here is an example: If you do not possess the concept of
something being blue then you cannot speak of. The true judgement that contains the term blue has
the ability to recognize something that looks blue, presupposes the

18. The Role Of Context In King Henry Iv Part 1
Essay Format (Not Speech Yet) Introduction (100) Respective to the context, Shakespeare has
successfully composed his play, King Henry IV Part One, and thus had the ability to manipulate
his text into representing one particular view through various representations of people and
politics. Shakespeare s play utilises the power of words as a tool for manipulating characters to
direct and influence the responders view. Dramatic and language devices utilised by Shakespeare
have clearly been portrayed to achieve his purpose and representation of contextual influences.
Overall, King Henry IV Part One espouses the alteration of historical events to dramatise political

control of the prisoners was, Fresh as a bridegroom ... He was perfumed like a milliner (Act 1,

portraying that he is easily provoked and arrogant by his way to divert himself out of trouble by
manipulating certain events. Also, through Shakespeare utilises nominative determinism to display

When you think about the purpose of education, there are three. We re preparing kids for jobs. We
re preparing them to be citizens. And we re teaching them to be human beings who can enjoy the
deeper forms of beauty. The third is as important as the other two, says Tom Horne, the state
superintendent of public instruction in Arizona.
Arts Education in the school system has been declining since the 1980 s. Budget cuts and
standards put in core classes like reading and math make it almost impossible to find a good arts
education in public schools. The money that was used to fund the arts programs is now being

options to consider when training for an HVAC career. Attending a trade school is a good
choice since you ll have classroom instruction and hands on training combined. Here s a look at
working as an HVAC technician and how to train for this career. Things You Learn With HVAC
Training The skills you learn depend on the type of training you take. Shorter training courses
often focus on a single area of HVAC maintenance while longer courses teach you how to work
on a broad range of equipment. You could learn about boilers, furnaces, central air conditioners,
and heat pumps. An HVAC technician often deals with the basic electrical and plumbing work
too, and you may learn about pipe fitting, welding, and working with sheet metal. You ll learn
how to read blueprints and learn about building codes. You ll learn safety requirements for
ventilation systems and handling refrigerant. The goal of a good HVAC training program is to

Projects Agency (ARPANET) was created. By October 15, 1969, computers at the University of
California Los Angeles and Stanford were connected and communicating (InternetHistory from
ARAPNET to Broadband, 2007) . Thus was the birth of the internet. Now, the internet is an

Also of note are the new wearable devices. Today, instead of pulling out our wallet to pay for
groceries, we can simply scan our Apple Watch in front of an Apple Pay terminal and have the
funds immediately deducted from our account. When arriving at the airport, your connected
device can sense your current location and immediately let your bank know you are preparing
for a trip. As you drive, your connected vehicle can download real time traffic and make
suggested route changes before you get stuck in traffic. More importantly, many modern vehicles
are equipped with sensors that can detect a collision and immediately dispatch help. The
connected world has far exceeded our expectations. One area of concern that revolves around the
IoT is cyber security. Throughout the 2016 presidential primaries, cyber security has become an
increasingly hot topic. During the January 17th, 2016 Democratic Primary Debate, cyber security
was discussed no less than six times (Leatherby, 2016). As the IoT continues to expand, hackers
have expanded their attacks as well. In July of 2015, hackers were able to remotely take control of
the systems onboard a Jeep Cherokee and completely disable the vehicle (Kerner, 2015).
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated event. Both the FBI and National Highway Traffic Safety

that controlled buffalo and used the fertile soil to make a living. The story of Buffalo Bills Wild
West: Celebrity, Memory, and Popular History shows how a man can start with nothing and
grow to be a publicly recognized figure. The author of this story, Joy S. Kasson, recounts Buffalo
Bill s life and the decisions he made along the way along with how the actions he took affected the
events around him. This story, that takes a biographic approach, tells of Buffalo Bill s influence in
society as a showman and in the perceived image of the wild west during this time.
What were the author s main claims and how did she defend them? The author claims that William
Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill, found success through luck and that his success was very
fortunate and highly unlikely. In the biography the author writes, In the process of becoming an
international celebrity, Cody both followed and diverged from familiar pathways in the search for
success and respectability that led many others to debt, obscurity, and failure (page 12). Cody s
experiences and decisions would not seem to lead to such

37. Bear A Christian Hero In Crispin By Avi
A Christian Hero What does it mean to be a hero? By most accounts a hero must have some sort
of power; for instance super strength or the ability to shoot lasers out of their eyes. One may
even think of capes and tights, and others might think of a hero using their powers to stop crime
or save a damsel in distress. But, are these the only descriptions of heroes? The Institute for Faith,
Work and Economics describes Christian heroes differently. While Bear from the book, Crispin by
Avi, lacked super powers, he may be characterized as a Christian herobecause he helped those in
need, supported his friend, and made personal sacrifices for others out of the kindness of his
own heart. Throughout Bear s journey to Great Wexly he helped those in need. More
specifically, he helped Crispin, a boy who was in desperate need of not only food and water, but
also an identity. Bear first provided Crispin with bread and then continued to provide him with his
companionship. He had Crispin swear an oath to him in order to protect the wolf s head from the
dangers of the real world. Bear knew he would not survive long without help due to the danger the
boy was in; he therefore provided him with help in the form of protecting, feeding, and teaching

Hello Professor and Fellow Classmates,
With the topic of the discussion for this week, I agree with the ideas of both the philosophy.
They have some good point of views that I think if we could combine them together, we would
have a perfect Social Contract. Hobbes created Social Contract in the 17th Century when the
world was wild and dangerous to him. People was too self interested that they would do whatever
it took to survive. He called it state of nature , a place where life is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish,
and short . He believed that we need Social Contract and a good government to protect and guide
us. His purpose was to bring safety, freedom, and peaceful environment to the society. Therefore,

40. Charles Schaeffer And Friedrich Nietzsche Essay
Introduction Born nearly 70 years apart from each other, Francis Schaeffer and Friedrich Nietzsche
were two very important figures in creating the modern philosophy. Two different men that studied
two different parts of philosophy. Because of their differences, most are unable to recognize their
many similarities. Each of the men had the things they studied, but the basis of their theories were
almost identical.
Nietzsche
One of the commendable influential philosophers in the history of ideas and a gifted stylist in his
native German, Friedrich Nietzsche undertook a radical re evaluation of established ideas and
critiqued moral values during his career. One of Nietzsche s primary studies was on the problem
of morality. However, he seems to contradict himself on the matter of values. Tansesi claims it is
because of the different definitions of value values in a descriptive sense as that which is thought to
be of value by an individual or by the members of a group, and values in a normative sense as
that which is objectively of value (652). Because of Nietzsche s committed denial of any moral
values, it would seem impossible to attribute him to him a commitment to the existence of any
values in the normative sense (652). In Thus Spake Zarathustra, he claims that to value is to create,
and that it is only through valuing that there is value. In the same section it is also claimed that
men did not discover values, nor were they given by a god; rather, human beings

41. Ian Mcdonald s A Kingdom Forgotten
A Kingdom Forgotten is a rather curious beast. The story breaks with the concept of linear time,
allowing the protagonists to interact with various points of history and manipulate key events
in order to fulfill a grand master plan . While there are many different narratives in this book, A
Kingdom Forgotten mostly focused on the story of Damon and Radin. The former is potentially
the most powerful wizard (or lamean as McDonald calls them) in the universe while the later
stumbles across a bit of prophecy which takes his life in a new and very unexpected direction.
Ultimately the story is about the end times of the universe and the battle between good and evil.
Both sides of this coin are represented by a variety of different forces, though it remains
unknown which side McDonald intends for Damon to be on, and all have their own hand
schemes that they are trying to bring to fruition. Some seem to want to destroy all of creation
while others naturally try to stop them. This is where things start to become a little stretched. By
its very nature, A Kingdom Forgotten is a convoluted and twisting story which jumps from place
to place and time to time almost randomly to reveal events that will eventually come together to
form the end goal of the plot. This part along is actually very well managed, McDonald has clearly

Special Needs Trust (SNTs)
When are Special Needs Trusts used?
SNT A Special Needs Trust is set up for a person who receives government benefits so it doesn t
disqualify the beneficiary from said benefits, such as Social Security Income or Food Stamps/Cash
Assistance. This is completely legal and permitted under the Social Security rules provided that the
disabled beneficiary cannot control the amount or the frequency of trust distributions and they
cannot revoke the trust. By establishing a trust, which provides luxuries or other benefits which
otherwise could not be obtained by the beneficiary, the beneficiary can obtain benefits from the
trust without defeating his or her eligibility for government benefits.
Usually a special needs trust has a provision which terminates the trust if it could be used to make
the beneficiary ineligible for government benefits.

A Marxist Approach to Jane Eyre
Based on the ideas of Karl Marx, this theoretical approach asks us to consider how a literary
work reflects the socioeconomic conditions of the time in which it was written. What does the text
tell us about contemporary social classes and how does it reflect classism? Jane Eyre depicts the
strict, hierarchical class system in England that required everyone to maintain carefully
circumscribed class positions. Primarily through the character of Jane, it also accents the cracks in
this system, the places where class differences were melding in Victorian England. For example,
the novel questions the role of the governess: Should she be considered upper class, based on her
superior education, or lower class, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jane confirms her secondary status by referring to Rochester as master, and believing wealth,
caste, custom, separate her from him. She fears he will treat her like an automaton because she is
poor, obscure, plain and little, mistakenly believing the lower classes to be heartless and soulless.
Claiming the aristocratic privilege of creating his own rules, Rochester redefines Jane s class
status, by defining her as his equal and likeness.
Before she can become Rochester s wife, Jane must prove her acceptability based on class. Does
she have an upper class sensibility, despite her inferior position at Thornfield? For example,
when Bessie sees Jane at Lowood, she is impressed because Jane has become quite a lady ; in
fact, her accomplishments surpass that of her cousins, yet they are still considered her social
superiors based solely on wealth. The conversation emphasizes the ambiguities of Jane s family
s class status and of the class system in general: Should a lady be judged based on academic
accomplishments, money, or family name? The novel critiques the behavior of most of the upper
class characters Jane meets: Blanche Ingram is haughty and superficial, John Reed is debauched,
and Eliza Reed is inhumanely cold. Rochester is a primary example of upper class debauchery,
with his series of mistresses and his attempt to make Jane a member of the harem. In her final view
of Thornfield, after Bertha has burned it down, Jane

The Feasibility of Prolonged Space Travel My scientifically accurate sci fi paper will focus on
long term space travel on a future mission to a distant exoplanet, such as the recently discovered
Kepler 186f, that is thought to be habitable for human life and later colonization. The astronauts
travelling to the exoplanet will have to deal with the effects of space travel such as radiation on
their bodies, both physically and psychologically. The goal of the mission will be to scope out the
environment of the exoplanet to either confirm or deny the existence of life on the exoplanet as
well as to evaluate in person whether or not it is habitable for humanlife. There will be obstacles
such as asteroids in the path to the exoplanet that the astronauts will have to overcome using
their scientific knowledge of space travel and propulsion. In addition to these obstacles will be
issues related to fuel and food supply, making the journey even more hazardous and causing the
astronauts to think critically in order for the mission to be a success, especially if they plan to
attempt to make a return trip. World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking believes that in order
for the human race to survive, it must look to space for a new place to live [1]. He believes that

Helping the local library in the summer reading program is an effective way to give back to the
community. The most satisfying part of the reading program was when children came to report
on books they read. We used the computers to fill out the information, give prizes, and stamps.
We often ask about the books they read to hear the children explain and report on the book and if
they enjoyed reading the book. The most challenging part of the reading program is when
several children came at once. Since there are only two volunteers helping during each time
when several children come in at once it can be difficult to help each child like we would like.
The reading program is over in the middle of August, I expect to continue participating until the
end of the program. Volunteering for the summer reading program was pleasing to me and I

educate and raise awareness of reading in the summer could be hosting summer book clubs, school
reading programs, or take home reading books to promote continued reading throughout the school
year. Alexander et al. (2007) states, teachers typically spend between 4 to 6 weeks re teaching

with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America, William J Clinton. Have you
ever thought about the problems of America? There are so many complications that could be
solved if our nation united. President Bill Clinton was a wise man that believed in our nation s

health, and jobs, but do nothing to find a solution. One huge problem with our country is
racism. It has been a problem since the 1500s, when African Americans and Native Americans
became slaves. During those hard times, African Americans fought hard for equality. They
would protest up and down towns risking their life s asking to be treated like everyone else.
Today I question if we even care that innocent African Americans are killed for being that certain
skin color. Today, certain people in our nation still treat African Americans with no respect. Some
people believe being a certain skin color defines your behavior and think you deserve to be killed
or treated unequally. Trayvon Martin was a victim and murdered because of his skin color.

The Impact of Digital Technology on Today s Children
In a world dominated by technology, it is appropriate for adults to have concerns about the impact
it is having on children. While most of this concern does stem from the experiences of their own
childhood when there was less technology, more play time outside, and life was just simply much
easier, the fact of the matter is that the children today and the future generations to come are going
to grow up in a technological realm. Today, children as young as four years old, are regularly using
digital technology on multiple different platforms such as the Internet, mobile devices, and
gaming consoles. A 2013 Nielsen Connected Devices report found that in households that have a
tablet and/or computer and with children under 12 years of age, 70% of the children used the
tablet; 70% of those children used it for entertainment purposes, and 57% used the tablet for
educational purposes. The report, of course, raises the obvious question of rather or not early
exposure of digital technology can have negative effects on child development especially regarding
their brains. In truth, there is no easy answer because like most things in life, there are both good
and bad attributes to it and the exact same thing can be applied in this situation. For instance, while
technology can be used for positive educational purposes, there are also serious psychological
concerns.

The infamous Draize eye test cannot be forgotten either. Chemicals are instilled into the eyes of
rabbits in stocks, often for up to seven days. And because their eyes are physiologically different

In the acute inhalation test the animals are subjected to intense amounts of a certain substance or
