bitHeads is a software development company based in Ottawa with divisions for tech and games. They got into IoT by developing municipal surface operations software and SCADA systems, and now work in manufacturing, food and beverage, health and wellness, and environmental applications. IoT is poised to grow significantly due to smaller, cheaper, smarter devices; cheaper network access; cheaper cloud computing; IPv6; low-power sensors; and increasing technology acceptance. IoT is evolving from one-way publishing of data to real-time applications that use location, context, and time for decision making. The next phase of IoT will enable machines to communicate and react to each other in real-time from anywhere through mobile gateways
