These slides were used in a lecture on giving an overview of how large eNGOs organize their work, and how young conservationists can think strategically about working in the field. It was strongly informed by my own experience working in global conservation among some of the larger eNGOs in Washington, DC. It was delivered as part of an undergraduate study abroad course considering wildlife conservation in Madagascar.

This paper monitored the rate of partial deposition of virus on heterogeneous formation, the study were able to monitor the behaviour of virus in heterogeneous deposition influencing partial concentration of virus in Lateritic and silty formation. The study was able to observe the rate of partial deposition base on its rate of fluctuation through variation observed from deposited void ratio and permeability, such formation developed fluctuation on these parameters thus generated partial deposition of virus in the study area. Linear deposition were also experienced in graphical representation, the result obtained ranged from [1.97E-12-2.35E-11],[3-30M], [1.97E-12-2.36E-11[10-100] Predictive 1.97E-12, Experimental 1.87E-12 [3-36m], predictive, [1,97E-12], Experimental [2.26E-11] [10-120 Days] predictive 2.36E-12, Experimental 2.24E-11,[10-120Days] [1.31E-12-2.36E11], Predictive1.31E-12, Experimental, 2.36E-11 [2-30m], predictive,[2.36E-11-2.2E-11]; [2-30m] ,for Time 1.31E-12-2.36E-11[4-60days] while predictive and Experimental,[2,36E-11] [1.37E-12-2,22E-11] [2-30m] The prediction rate of partial deposition of virus was possible through mathematical modeling techniques, the system were developed base on the parameters from predominant formation characteristics in study location, these parameters generated the derived model through the developed governing equation, simulation generated theoretical values that were compared with experimental results, both parameters developed best fits validating the model, experts will definitely applied this approach in monitoring and evaluation of virus deposits in the study area.

This research work examined the spatial compliance and negligence of environmental laws on waste
management practices and consequences in the south-south region of Nigeria. Data for this study were collected from
primary and secondary sources, through the administration of one thousand, seven hundred and twenty eight (1,728)
copies of questionnaire using the random sampling method on respondents. Simple percentages, charts, student’s ttest, anova, and correlation statistical techniques were used in the analysis of the data collected. This study revealed
that waste management practices and controlled dumpsites location in the study area were not in compliance with
environmental laws. The null hypothesis one was rejected in favour of the positive hypothesis and concluded that, there
is a significant relationship between the waste dumpsites in the study area, and the impacts of their health hazards on
the immediate environment. The study therefore recommends that, in our pursuit of environmental protection and
compliance of environmental laws, we should strive towards achieving a balance in the benefits we derive from
activities that cause environmental pollution and the resultant harmful effects.

This report analyzes the levels of seven types of capital - such as human capital, infrastructure, and finance - in 11 major Polish cities. It finds that over the past five years, from 2006 to 2010, all cities significantly increased their overall development capital on average by 16%. Growth was fastest in areas like investment attractiveness and image, and slower for infrastructure and quality of life. Invasive species are recognized as one of the driving factors behind biodiversity loss worldwide. They have significant negative impacts upon many other sectors including: economic development, health, agriculture, tourism and trade. Islands are very vulnerable to biological invasions. Island ecosystems, while highly diverse, are particularly fragile and vulnerable due to their small size, relative isolation, disproportionate susceptibility to the overharvesting of resources, and to natural disasters. Island biodiversity is also under serious threat from another major driver of biodiversity loss – climate change- which will interact with biological invasions and other processes in complex ways. Anticipated impacts from climate change including sea level rise and rainfall pattern-changes, which threaten to damage ecosystem health and may accelerate species loss. By fostering ecosystem health, invasive species management represents an effective form of Ecosystem-Based Adaptation (EBA) to climate change.

Island ecosystems, while highly diverse, are particularly fragile and vulnerable due to their small size, relative isolation, disproportionate susceptibility to the overharvesting of resources, and to natural disasters. Island biodiversity is also under serious threat from another major driver of biodiversity loss – climate change- which will interact with biological invasions and other processes in complex ways. Anticipated impacts from climate change including sea level rise and rainfall pattern-changes, which threaten to damage ecosystem health and may accelerate species loss. By fostering ecosystem health, invasive species management represents an effective form of Ecosystem-Based Adaptation (EBA) to climate change.

The environment has been erroneously perceived as a god’s-given resource to be explored and exploited for production of goods and services necessary for the satisfaction of human needs and comfort. This perception inspired man to engage in breath-taking explorations into the huge vaults of the heavens with ozone layer depletion, green house effect as consequences resulting to global warming, climate change, loss of biodiversity on one hand and pollution, deforestation, flooding, draught, famine, flood, extreme weather events on the other hand, as global catastrophic threats to human kind. These problems have become a major concern of the international community who has called for a new type of education for a better understanding of the complexity of the problems of the environment as well as for effective management of environmental resources. This type of education is referred to as environmental education. This paper explored the library as a medium for the dissemination of knowledge of the environment and its problems. It explored various ways through which knowledge of environmental problems and their prevention is promoted through the instrumentality of the library. Activity in Bangladesh There is no direct activity of ISSG in Bangladesh but in the first international conference (February 2001, Auckland, New Zealand) held by ISSG, they included some invasive plant species on the outline “Alien invasive plants in Bangladesh and their impacts on the ecosystem”. This study was run by ISSG in collaboration with M. K. Hossain (Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences) and M. K. Pasha (Department of Botany) at Chittagong University.

Invasive species can lead to changes in the structure and composition of ecosystems, leading to significant detrimental impacts to the ecosystem services, affecting the economy and human wellbeing.
