Everyday Math is a mathematics curriculum developed by the University of Chicago based on research about how children learn math best. It uses a spiral approach that revisits concepts regularly, incorporates problem solving using everyday situations, and provides daily practice of basic skills and games. Lessons include mental math, introducing new content, and follow-up practice through math journals, boxes and games. Students also receive homework called Home/Study Links to promote learning outside the classroom with support from reference books and parents. Teachers assess student progress through various formal and informal methods.
