A hazardous area refers to any location with combustible materials that could cause an explosion. An intrinsically safe electrical circuit uses very low energy levels that cannot cause an explosion. Barriers are a key part of intrinsic safety systems as they limit energy to hazardous areas. Intrinsic safety is the safest, least expensive method to protect hazardous areas.

An Explosion Proof Cable Gland is a critical component in industrial settings designed to ensure the safety of electrical installations. Specifically engineered to prevent the risk of explosions in hazardous environments, these cable glands act as protective seals around cables, wires, or conduits, effectively containing any potential sparks or ignition sources within the enclosed system. Employing robust materials and precise engineering, Explosion Proof Cable Glands provide a secure barrier against flammable gases, vapors, or dust, minimizing the likelihood of hazardous incidents. Their application is essential in industries such as oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, and mining, where the presence of combustible substances demands heightened safety measures. By effectively sealing cable entries, these glands contribute to overall workplace safety, offering reliable protection against the inherent dangers of explosive atmospheres.

Hazardous location protection methods e book by pepperl+ fuchsKristen_Barbour_PF
Hazardous Location Protection Methods Explained.
By definition, a hazardous (classified) location is an area in an industrial complex where the atmosphere contains flammable concentrations of gases or vapors by leakage, or ignitable concentrations of dust or fibers by suspension or dispersion.
The treatment of dangerous substances, where the risk of explosion or fire exists that can be caused by an electrical spark, arc, or hot temperatures, requires specifically defined instrumentation located in a hazardous location. It also requires that interfacing signals coming from a hazardous location be unable to create the necessary conditions to ignite and propagate an explosion.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Intrinsic Safety in a Nutshell by Pepperl+Fuchs
1.
2. The term hazardous area can be confusing. A hazardous area refers to any location with combustible material such as gases, dusts, or fibers that might produce an ignitable mixture. A hazardous area can be a sealed room filled with a volatile material or an area that is open to normal foot traffic, such as the area around a gasoline pump.
3. This is typically achieved through the use of barriers – either zener diode barriers or isolated barriers – that limit energy to a hazardous area. As the name implies, intrinsic safety refers to electrical equipment and wiring that’s inherently safe. In other words, an intrinsically safe circuit is one with energy levels so low they cannot cause an explosion.
4.
5. Barriers are the key component in an intrinsic safety system because they limit the energy to the hazardous area.
6.
7. Isolated barriers provide galvanic isolation for anything connected to them. Therefore, there is no need for a dedicated ground. Galvanically isolated barriers provide protection for specific applications such as transmitters, solenoids, and thermocouples, enabling easy system design.
