The document provides guidelines for lightning presentations at an interaction intranet conference. It recommends presenting with 15 seconds per slide and 20 slides maximum for a 5 minute presentation. Speakers should avoid excessive text on slides as it will distract the audience. The document also lists 10 characteristics of a great intranet, including enabling multi-way communication, collaboration, positively impacting employees, being a gateway to knowledge, reflecting company values, building communities, and being available everywhere.
There’s no question that virtual meetings bring people together, speed up decision making and save money. Today’s virtual
meetings let customers connect with your experts despite distance and help you feel as though you’re in the same room as colleagues from around the world. Here are five ways to make your virtual meetings more productive and impactful.
This is a slide deck I put together 2 years ago for a presentation that I gave to a group of engineers on how and why to integrate Social tools in the product development process.
Technology has impacted us and will continue impacting. However we must be judicious in its use specially in social media and smart phones as it is likely to expand our attention spectrum and we may be losing on our priorities and ideal approach
This presentation covers:
How to cut through the technology hype.
Three big themes that are and will impact on workplace communication and collaboration.
One major underlying trend.

Improving Distribution Feeders for Photovoltaic Generation by Loop Power Cont...IJMER
Now a day’s solar power plants are more reliable, because no fuel and reduced CO2 emission. But the solar power generation system do not work in all weather conditions, it is power generated only solar radiation time .To overcome this problem by using (pv)). In fuel cell power generation there will be no problems, where as in fuel cell power distribution systems have some problems like overloading the distribution feeders. In this project to overcome this overloading by using Loop Power Controller (LPC).The loop power controller to control real power and reactive power flow by adjusting voltage ratio and phase shift. Daily loading unbalance is determined by analyzing (pv) power generation recording by using SCADA system and load profile based on Data Automation System (DAS).The loop power controller can improve controllability, operational flexibility and reduce power loss of the distribution system. The Loop Power Controller (LPC) is based on the MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
Stakeholders’ Perception of the Causes and Effect of Construction Delays on P...IJMER
Indian Construction industry is large, volatile, and requires tremendous capital outlays. Typically, the work offers low rates of return in relation to the amount of risk involved. A unique element of risk in the industry is the manner in which disputes and claims are woven through the fibre of the construction process. Delay is generally acknowledged as the most common, costly, complex and risky problem encountered in construction projects. Because of the overriding importance of time for both the Owner and the Contractor, it is the source of frequent disputes and claims leading to lawsuits. The growing rate of delays is adversely affecting the timely delivery of construction projects. Presently construction industries are facing a lot of problems, considering that a paper assess construction stakeholder’s perception to the causes of delays and its effects on project delivery. And also one case study is considered in this paper to elicit responses from construction stakeholders. The primary aim of this paper is to identify the perceptions of the different parties regarding causes of delays, the allocation of responsibilities and the types of delays, and method of minimizing the construction delays
GPS cycle slips detection and repair through various signal combinationsIJMER
Abstract: GPS Cycle slips affect the measured spatial distance between the satellite and the receiver, thus affecting the accuracy of the derived 3D coordinates of any ground station. Therefore, cycle slips must be detected and repaired before performing any data processing. The objectives of this research are to detect the Cycle slips by using various types of GPS signal combinations with graphical and statistical tests techniques, and to repair cycle slips by using average and time difference geometry techniques. Results of detection process show that the graphical detection can be used as a primary detection
technique whereas the statistical approaches of detection are proved to be superior. On the other hand, results of repairing process show that any trial can be used for such process except for the 1st and 2nd time differences averaging all data as they give very low accuracy of the cycle slip fixation.
Detection of Stall Region during Testing of CompressorIJMER
Most of the algorithms for anti surge control for industrial centrifugal compressor
work on the data taken from various process parameters . In recent years , some more works have
been done to co- relate the compressor stall / surge with machinery vibrations. These features have
been applied in some compressor control PLC as well. Compressor stalls are aerodynamic stalls
which can result to reduced compression efficiency or complete breakdown in compression. Stall is
normally a precursor to surge which cause radial vibration at certain frequencies .Pure surge, on the
other hand, is an axisymmetric oscillation of the mass row along the axial length of the compressor. It
is more severe than rotating stall and may cause severe damage to compressor. For high speed , high
pressure centrifugal compressor, it is imprative to conduct a ASME PTC10 type 1 test before
equipment is towed out. For high pressure centrifugal compressor, aerodyanmics induced vibration
may lead to Resizing diffuser and return channelleading to enormous delay if issue is not identified at
OEM ( Original equipment manufacturer ) test bench itself .This paper provides a road map to draw a
surge limit line and locating stall region in compressor map which can help deriving a Real Surge
Precursor Algorithm based on vibration and dynmaic pressure analysis at OEM works . These can be
used also as a part of diagnostic tool to identify the real source of sub synchronous vibration.
Crack Detection of Ferromagnetic Materials through Non Destructive Testing Me...IJMER
The real components have so many defects in the material, which acts as a crack. In fact,
manufacturing of a component is not ideal. In manufacturing several kinds of defects are generated
like voids and inclusions. Thus, it must be check all the critical components through non-destructive
techniques (NDT) to detect the potential dangerous cracks. In Certain crucial components such as
Airplanes, Space Vehicles, Nuclear Plants, Heavy Machinery, Dams, Concrete etc., online monitoring
of defects is necessary. Concrete is different from other construction materials. Concrete can be made
from combination of different materials. Its final properties depend on its treatment at construction
site. To achieve this, sophisticated technologies are used. Ferromagnetic Composite Iron (FCI) is
used in power generating devices and DC brushless Motors. Laminations can be substituted by
Ferromagnetic Composite Iron (FCI) materials which offer a great manufacturing advantage. Non
Destructive testing (NDT) is a major part of quality control. In Non-Destructive testing (NDT)
different materials are tested for surface, volumetric and internal defects present in it. Non
Destructive testing (NDT) is also an assurance that the proposed product is good and reliable. To
apply these techniques, a certain level of skills is very necessary so that maximum amount of
information is fetched related to the proposed product during testing. This paper deals with the Non
Destructive Testing Methodology Used for crack detection in ferromagnetic materials.

This paper of finite element analysis of the rib cage model is applied to recognize stress distributions and to determine the rate of bone fractures(especially for pathologically changed bones). Also to determine the load and stress to occurs on the human rib cage at any accident. Also find the maximum load sustain capacity of human rib cage and according to the load sustain capacity of the human rib cage by finite element analysis and search a material as like a bone cement and it take on a rib fracture and see the result . This paper is only of to nullify the rib fracture as present medical treatment give the elastic belt but due to respiration, the human ribs are contract and relax that’s the rib fracture are only minimize not a nullify. The human models are considered in between age 15 to 40 year. The Simulation result shows a good agreement with the cadaver test data.
Black Hole Detection in AODV Using Hexagonal Encryption in Manet’sIJMER
In MANETs (mobile ad hoc network), security is common problem and lack of issues in
MANET network. When comparing to wired network, MANETs are harmed to security attacks due to the
scarcity of a trusted centralized enforce authority and limited resources. This paper proposed a technique
to avoid Blackhole node behaviour in AODV (Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) using Hexagonal
Encryption inNS2. Hexagonal Encryption has been chosen for low cost and high computation speed up.
Compared to existing blackhole detection technique, this proposed technique obtains better result by
stimulating in NS2.
Pose and Illumination in Face Recognition Using Enhanced Gabor LBP & PCA IJMER
This paper presents the face recognition based on Enhanced GABOR LBP and PCA. Some
of the challenges in face recognition are occlusion, pose and illumination .In this paper, we are more
focused on varying pose and illumination. We divided this algorithm into five stages. First stage finds
the fiducial points on face using Gabor filter bank as this filter is well known for illumination
compensation. Second stage applies the morphological techniques for reduce useless fiducial points.
Third stage applies the LBP on reduced fiducial points with neighborhood pixel for improving the pose
variation. Forth stage uses PCA to detect the best variance points which are necessary to characterize
the training images. The last recognition stage includes finding the Euclidean norm of the feature
weight vectors with the test weight vector. In this project, we used 20 images of 20 different persons
from ORL database for training. For testing, we used images with varying illumination, pose and
occluded images of the same training

Knowledge management and social media by Enamul HaqueEnamul Haque
Today, most of the conversations happen on the web, using different social media tools. Conversations that are stored electronically are forming knowledge nuggets, serving the world, like it has never been before. That’s the Social media era that we are passing through. Which is changing the way we live our life & share knowledge.

What is a lightning/ignite presentation?
Introduction to 10 characteristics of a great intranet post. What makes it great? There will be no mentions of weather widgets or stock tickers here…We’re covering…
1. An open, multi-way communication vehicle: Top Down, Bottom Up, Peer-to-PeerAn enterprise has a host of communication channels available, but the intranet is a critical one. A great intranet must facilitate all communication routes: Top Down, Bottom Up, Peer-to-Peer. There must be a channel to allow senior leaders to communicate key organisational messages and there must be a way for employees to let your CEO know what they think! Wherever you can, publish content provider’s names and, if possible, have presence awareness facilities so that peer-to-peer communication is maximised.
3. An executor of business transactionsA great intranet is a place of action and should be a part of business processes. Typically, these business transactions will include HR self-service tools (payslips, pensions, benefits, time off booking), expenses, travel booking and so on. British Airways has embraced the idea of the intranet as an executor of business transactions — a great example of what’s possible. Bringing these transactions to the intranet are tremendously valuable. It brings dedicated, guaranteed traffic which, in turn, enhances your intranets communication and collaboration efficiencies.Employees like having all these functions in one dedicated place. It’s just easier.
2. A facilitator of enterprise collaborationHow does your business collaborate? Email and shared network drives are still a default collaboration tool in many organisations but your intranet is superbly placed to assist. Through teamsites, knowledge shares, instant messaging, video tools, your intranet can be the key enabler of enterprise collaboration: great intranets are doing this now.
4. A tool that positively impacts every job in your companyIn short, does your intranet make a difference to employees? If you were to take it away tomorrow, would people notice / care / cry?
5. A gateway to business knowledgeWhere is knowledge in your company? My enterprise knowledge is in my head, on paper on my desk, on my laptop, on sharedrives and increasingly, in teamsites. But should I leave, nearly all of this would be lost to my current company. Indeed, even whilst I’m still employed, most of my knowledge is not in a place where it can be shared, used, learnt or redeployed. Intranets are a great place to share knowledge and make this knowledge work for the organisation.A great intranet should also allow you to identify the people that have the knowledge you need. Time spent on developing skills and experiences sections as part of employee intranet profiles is rarely wasted. We should all know what we each know.
6. A digital reflection of the values of the companyEmployees do not need their intranet to be liberally emblazoned with the company colours to know which company they work for, but a great intranet will be a digital reflection of the company values. It will embody the company ethos; it should feel the same as being in an office. A great intranet is in tune with the company way.
7. Serves to build enterprise communityMany companies are recognising the value of internal community building to facilitating collaboration and innovation, but also in driving employee engagement and connection with the company they work for. Allowing people to connect by surfacing interests, skills, experiences and hobbies on a profile page is the first step; the second is to provide intranet ‘space’ and company time for that community to thrive.Community tools could extend beyond the current employee base. Consider community tools for your company alumni or even prospective employees who are still at University. Communities could co-exist across intranets, corporate internets and social media sites.
8. Transparent governance, management and strategyIt’s all well and good having this great intranet, but if no one knows the strategy, who governs and controls this space and what the rules of engagement are, then there’s still clear space for improvement. Be sure to publish the governance structure, your intranet strategy, the key personnel contact information and all the rules of intranet engagement on the intranet. Set up an ‘ideas’ section so employees can contribute to the organic growth of your intranet.
9. An engaging spaceThis is one is difficult to define but you know when you’ve got it!
10. Available where your employees need itAn intranet cannot just be a tool for those of your employees who have a laptop. A great intranet has a reach as broad as your employees day-to-day geography:At home (for access before and after work)At the office on a laptop/desktopVia kiosks for production and distribution facilitiesOn mobile/smartphonesWhenever you receive an email link to intranet content, you should be able to access that content
