EXISTING SYSTEM
 The Existing systems has cables and wires to measure
health related parameters which is very
uncomfortable for patients.
 It increases the complexity incase of emergencies .
 Wireless communication such as LAN/WAN are used
with long distance but data are not secured and large
amount of energy is consumed .
PROPOSED SYSTEM
 In proposed system WBAN is proposed based on the requirement of
remote medical treatment. It consists of two types of sensors called
invasive sensors and wearable sensors (non-invasive) on a body can
monitor physiological states.
 The transmitter unit has sensor to measure the physical condition of
patient.
 These sensors send the collected data to the Microcontroller and
after that through UART to Red Tacton. The monitoring unit use
the LCD Display to Display the condition of patient.
 Each WBAN consists of an android mobile node collecting live data
from on-body Shimmer.
 Sensors record and transmit their data to monitoring devices.
 The data is transferred from one central link sensor to a hospital
access point and can be analyzed on personal monitoring devices or
stored in the patient’s electronic record.
RED-TACTON
• RED - a warm color to emphasis warm and cordial
communications.
• TACTON - Action triggered by Touching
• It is a new Human Area networking technology which uses
the surface of the human body as a safe high speed network
transmission path.
• Red tacton transceiver electrodes are covered with an
insulating flim so there is no way that current from red tacton
can flow into the users body .
• Using a red tacton device,the human body effectively becomes
an Ethernet cable.
• Human body use its electrical field to connect to networks or
the internet.
• “It is similar to a wireless
network connection,but it
is not.It is a physical
connection” ,the person.
• The connection is more
secure and does not slow
down if many people are
using the same
connection.

 Arduino is an open-source
platform used for building
electronics projects.
 Arduino consists of both a
physical programmable circuit
board(microcontroller)
and a piece of software or IDE.
UART
 UART is usually an a part of integrated circuit used for serial
communication over a computer or peripheral device serial port
ETHERNET SHIELD
 The Arduino ethernet shield allows an Arduino board to connect to the
internet.
 It is based on the Wiznet W5100 ethernet chip.
LCD
 LCDs are used for display of numeric and alphanumeric characters
in Dot matrix and segmental displays.
SENSORS
HEART BEAT SENSOR:
 Heart beat sensor is designed to give digital output of heart beat when a
finger is placed on it.
 It works on the principle of light modulation by blood flow through finger
at each pulse.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR:[-55C to +150C]
 The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature sensor, whose
output voltage is linearly propotional to the Celsius temperature.
 The LM35 thus has an advantage over linear temperature sensor calibrated
in kevin, as the user is not required to subtract a large constant voltage from
its output to obtain convenient centigrade scaling
SPO2 SENSOR:
 SPO2 stands for peripheral capillary oxygen saturation, an estimation
of the amount of oxygen in the blood.
 It works by emitting and then absorbing a light wave passing through
a blood vessels in the fingertip.
GSR SENSOR:
 The combined changes between electro dermal resistance and electro
dermal potential make up electrodermal activity.
 Galvanic skin resistance (GSR) refers to the recorded electrical
resistance between two electrodes when a very weak current is
steadily passed between them. The electrodes are normally placed
about an inch apart, and the resistance recorded varies according to
the emotional state of the subject.

CONCLUSION
 Patient monitoring system is implemented using RED-TACTON, the
system principally monitors medical parameters such as heart beat rate,
temperature, blood glucose level and electro dermal activity by using heart
rate sensor, LM35sensor, SPO2 sensor, GSR sensor.
 The medical details are transfer only when the transceiver get into a
physical connection (touch).The designed System is more comfortable for
patient and reduce manpower.
 In this technology the data transfer is more secured and less amount of
energy consumed.
 Red-Tacton technology brings new dimension of communication and put
an end to the use of cables. It can provide seamless service whenever and
whoever uses it.

It is conveninent. But it have many limitations,and it is highly depend on internet connectivity

EXISTING SYSTEM  The Existing systems has cables and wires to measure health related parameters which is very uncomfortable for patients.  It increases the complexity incase of emergencies .  Wireless communication such as LAN/WAN are used with long distance but data are not secured and large amount of energy is consumed .
  • 9. PROPOSED SYSTEM  In proposed system WBAN is proposed based on the requirement of remote medical treatment. It consists of two types of sensors called invasive sensors and wearable sensors (non-invasive) on a body can monitor physiological states.  The transmitter unit has sensor to measure the physical condition of patient.  These sensors send the collected data to the Microcontroller and after that through UART to Red Tacton. The monitoring unit use the LCD Display to Display the condition of patient.
  • 10.  Each WBAN consists of an android mobile node collecting live data from on-body Shimmer.  Sensors record and transmit their data to monitoring devices.  The data is transferred from one central link sensor to a hospital access point and can be analyzed on personal monitoring devices or stored in the patient’s electronic record.

RED-TACTON • RED - a warm color to emphasis warm and cordial communications. • TACTON - Action triggered by Touching • It is a new Human Area networking technology which uses the surface of the human body as a safe high speed network transmission path. • Red tacton transceiver electrodes are covered with an insulating flim so there is no way that current from red tacton can flow into the users body . • Using a red tacton device,the human body effectively becomes an Ethernet cable. • Human body use its electrical field to connect to networks or the internet.
  • 12. • “It is similar to a wireless network connection,but it is not.It is a physical connection” ,the person. • The connection is more secure and does not slow down if many people are using the same connection.
  • 15. HARDWARES ARDUINO  Arduino is an open-source platform used for building electronics projects.  Arduino consists of both a physical programmable circuit board(microcontroller) and a piece of software or IDE.
  • 16. UART  UART is usually an a part of integrated circuit used for serial communication over a computer or peripheral device serial port ETHERNET SHIELD  The Arduino ethernet shield allows an Arduino board to connect to the internet.  It is based on the Wiznet W5100 ethernet chip. LCD  LCDs are used for display of numeric and alphanumeric characters in Dot matrix and segmental displays.

SENSORS HEART BEAT SENSOR:  Heart beat sensor is designed to give digital output of heart beat when a finger is placed on it.  It works on the principle of light modulation by blood flow through finger at each pulse. TEMPERATURE SENSOR:[-55C to +150C]  The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature sensor, whose output voltage is linearly propotional to the Celsius temperature.  The LM35 thus has an advantage over linear temperature sensor calibrated in kevin, as the user is not required to subtract a large constant voltage from its output to obtain convenient centigrade scaling
  • 18. SPO2 SENSOR:  SPO2 stands for peripheral capillary oxygen saturation, an estimation of the amount of oxygen in the blood.  It works by emitting and then absorbing a light wave passing through a blood vessels in the fingertip. GSR SENSOR:  The combined changes between electro dermal resistance and electro dermal potential make up electrodermal activity.  Galvanic skin resistance (GSR) refers to the recorded electrical resistance between two electrodes when a very weak current is steadily passed between them. The electrodes are normally placed about an inch apart, and the resistance recorded varies according to the emotional state of the subject.
  • 19. SOFTWARE ARDUINO IDE The Arduino integrated development environment is used to write codes,upload codes and run codes in computer. OUTPUT
  • 22. RESULT  Normal heart beat rate - (60-100)  Normal blood glucose level-(70-99mg/dl)BM,(less than 140 mg/dl)AM  Normal temperature level -(36.1C- 37.2C)
  • 23. CONCLUSION  Patient monitoring system is implemented using RED-TACTON, the system principally monitors medical parameters such as heart beat rate, temperature, blood glucose level and electro dermal activity by using heart rate sensor, LM35sensor, SPO2 sensor, GSR sensor.  The medical details are transfer only when the transceiver get into a physical connection (touch).The designed System is more comfortable for patient and reduce manpower.  In this technology the data transfer is more secured and less amount of energy consumed.  Red-Tacton technology brings new dimension of communication and put an end to the use of cables. It can provide seamless service whenever and whoever uses it.
