Kelp forests are seen as the ultimate ecological engineer in coastal areas. They exist in marine

Light, latitude, and water temperature and nutrients all play a role in facilitating the growth of kelp
forests all around the world, (Bolton). Kelp specifically dominates the shallow rocky coasts of the
world s cold water marine habitats. Although they look as a free growing plant, they are in fact
primarily of brown algae. These structures provide food and shelter to a huge mix of biota,
including crabs, sea urchins, mollusks, and other marine organisms (Steneck). The fronds, or large
leaves of the kelp are the distinctive feature that can represent where a specific kelp may be found.
The sizes of these organisms can range from the smallest found near California and Alaska at 5m to
giant kelp up to 45m in length found on the west coasts of North and South America (Hamilton).
One specific species found most commonly is the Laminaria prominently found in the northern
hemisphere except for the eastern pacific. Kelp themselves are not very diverse at the taxonomical
level. However, the coast of California contains the most diverse flora, 20 species across 16 genera

Conrad displays many realistic example of imperialism and how the characters in this book act
under certain circumstances. In this book, Heart of Darkness, A group of men are aboard an English
ship. It is sitting on the mouth of the Thames. The group on the ship consists of a Lawyer, an
Accountant, and one of the Company Director. The Company director is also the captain. The
protagonist and narrator is Marlow. He got a job on the ship because of his aunt who has
connections to the Company. The other narrator is an unnamed guest on the ship too. While they
are casually sailing and waiting for the wind to pick up so that they can continue their voyage,
Marlow begins to speak about his experiences in London and Europe. He describes them as some
of the worst times of his life because of the darkness he has experienced there. Marlow has always

advantages and disadvantages are nearly equal in my eyes. However, depending on your home life,
social status, and personal liking, Union Citymay or may not be the town for you. Over the years, I
become more thankful for my hometown because of the low crime rate unlike many other cities.
Union City, previously known as Miles Mills ( History of Union City, PA ), was discovered by
David Watts and William Mills in the year 1785 ( History... ). At one time, Union City, was
considered The Chair Center of the World due to all the sawmills and chair factories within the

Having a rather unique stylistic approach to topics, especially religion, Blake seems to contradict
himself in his own writing and, therefore, sparks questions in the readers minds on specific

The Tyger, however, is part of the Songs of Experience collection, which revolves more around a
ruthless, ferocious (Northrop 380) world of experience that an adult would live in (Northrop
380). Whereas the Songs of Innocence are relatively light and optimistic poems (Milton), the
Songs of Experience are much darker in tone and exposing the world as seen in the Songs of
Innocence. Postulated to be unique in the fact that these two collections were the most intricate
of all of his works, Blake s artistic vision is clearly shown in The Songs of Innocence and of

The person I m reflecting on is Emily Dickinson, a famous poet from New England. Emily
Dickinson was born in 1830 in New England. Her natural first skills were cooking and sewing,
but attended a boarding school would change a lot. Emily was different from her family and had
a different outlook on life. Her love life was nothing, but shameful when guy after guy ended up
cheating, leaving her, or even dying. After that, Emily decided to stay inside her home for the

Humans need to feel a sense of acceptance and belonging; moreover, teens need to feel loved and
valued by their families. If the family does not meet this need, they tend to attach themselves to
another social group, usually to a group of friends. Unfortunately, without these close ties to
their families, some teens will attach themselves to a group of delinquents and adopt a gang
lifestyle. In her novel The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton illustrates how Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally s
dysfunctional family situations led them to attach themselves to the Greasers while
demonstrating how these choices resulted in tragic consequences. After the death of his
parents, Darry ineptly takes on the responsibility of raising his brothers, yet Ponyboy Curtis does
not understand why he is so hard on him. Soda attempts to convince Ponyboy that Darry loves
him, but Ponyboy simply thinks Darry thought I was just another mouth to feed and somebody
to holler at. Darry love me? I thought of those hard, pale eyes. Soda was wrong for once, I
thought. Darry doesn t love anyone or anything, except for maybe Soda. I didn t hardly think of

The Progressive era was a massive turning point in America s history. The suffrage movement,
Scopes Monkey Trial, and prohibition all had a large impact on America. Each event had a unique
effect on the future and we still see the effects of these events today. Even though the woman
suffrage movement began around 1848 it really didn t gain footing until the 20th century. In the
20th century organizations like the National American Woman Suffrage association and the
National Woman s party lobbied President Woodrow Wilson
to pass a constitutional amendment for

The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, or Doctor Faustus, is a tragedy, written by Christopher
Marlowe, which conveys the heavy use of symbolism and allusions to illustrate the conflict
between good and evil during a time of rebirth in England. This play was first performed sometime
between 1588 and 1593, and published sometime in the early 1600s and is based on the protagonist,
Faustus, who originates from a classic oral German legend. Doctor Faustus is one of the first of
many publications that center on the character that is Faust. Doctor Faustus tells the story of a man
who has made a deal with the devil in order to gain unlimited knowledge, which in turn, guides him
down a path of damnation and a constant struggle between right and wrong. The decisions that the
titular character makes throughout the story are presented through an overall theme of the English
Renaissance, along with symbolism and allegories that accompany the good and evil angels, as
well as the seven deadly sins. Marlowe wrote Doctor Faustus during the English Renaissance, and
