This document provides an overview of emerging trends in the collaborative economy and chaordic society, including platforms for hospitality, gaming, neighborhoods, and entire countries. It discusses how technologies like 3D printing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and augmented reality are impacting various industries and society. Examples are given of highly successful startup companies like WhatsApp and Airbnb that achieve massive valuations with very few employees by leveraging new technologies and platforms. The importance of social collaboration through decentralized autonomous organizations and networks is emphasized.
This document summarizes key technologies and trends in collaborative economy, including sharing economy platforms, internet of things, 3D printing, crowdfunding, and crowdsourcing. It discusses how these areas are enabling new forms of value creation through peer-to-peer sharing of assets and services, as well as crowdfunded and crowdsourced innovation. However, it also notes challenges around regulating new business models and ensuring trust in the context of rapidly changing technologies outstripping the pace of legal and ethical standards.
Digital Strategies: Why is this on top of the C-level agenda?Robin Teigland
The document discusses the need for companies to undergo a fundamental shift in strategy and business models to adapt to digital disruption. While many incumbents have unlocked value from digital technologies, digital disruption has only begun and will accelerate. New business models like platforms, ecosystems, and on-demand services are emerging. To thrive in this new environment, companies need to balance exploiting existing business with exploring new opportunities through activities like partnerships, data and software strategies, and retraining workforces. The skills required of workers are also changing rapidly as routine jobs decline and new types of non-routine work emerge.

Millennials and Generation Z have changing customer expectations due to influences like social media and messaging apps. They spend most of their time on only a few apps. New technologies are also emerging like augmented reality, wearables, chatbots, and blockchain. To adapt to these changes, companies should experiment with new technologies, remain flexible, stay consistent in their branding, focus on customer relationships, and be aware of the risks of not adapting to changes in customer expectations and technology trends.
This document discusses disruptive trends in technology that are transforming industries and business models. It notes that technologies like mobile, cloud, IoT, 3D printing and blockchain are enabling new forms of collaboration and value creation outside traditional firm boundaries. New peer-to-peer platforms and sharing economy models are challenging assumptions about economies of scale and the need for third party verification. However, regulations and laws have struggled to keep up with the pace of technological change, raising questions around trust and how new activities will be governed.

The document summarizes findings from surveys of Canadian CIOs and technology professionals conducted by Robert Half Technology in 2015. The top 3 skills in demand according to CIOs are database management, network administration, and wireless network management. The survey also found that 63% of CIOs believe wearable technology will become common in the workplace within the next 5 years. Additionally, over half of non-IT professionals surveyed said that a career in IT seems appealing due to potential salary, career opportunities, and ability to innovate. Salaries in IT are predicted to increase by 5% overall in 2016, with data scientist salaries expected to rise the most at 8.5%.

"China: Rising opportunities for Western tech start-ups" by Max PeiroTheFamily
What about entering the largest market in the world?
In recent years, China has become the largest and one of the most innovative markets, with nearly 700 million smartphone users and home of some of the largest tech companies in the world such as Alibaba, Tencent or Xiaomi. China is closing the gap with US in terms of R&D spending and is already home to over a thousand R&D firms.
Even if it is the largest market in the world, it is still an unknown market.
During this 45 min. workshop, Max Peiro will present you this unique innovative market and how the combination of a massive early-adoption consumer base and a large demand for innovation triggered by tech companies and government initiatives alike can bring solid opportunities for Western start-ups.
Max is the Co-founder and CEO of Sanpei Ventures, a venture investment holding based in Shanghai. Max have been living in China for over 8 years, helping Western tech start-ups to set foot and accelerate their growth in Chinese market.

Technology Startups Ecosystem in China - Lessons to other ecosystemsDaniel Cukier
At the beginning of November 2016, I joined a group of 54 entrepreneurs delegation to meet Chinese startups. We had an intense week visiting companies such as Alibaba, Baidu, JD, etc, talking with entrepreneurs, investors and other ecosystem agents. Is there innovation in China? Can we consider that Chinese startups are successful? What does China represents to the futuro of technology development? What the Brazilian and other ecosystems can learn from this example? What went wrong? What went right? This slides bring some insights from this trip. They are an invite for debate about the role of the giant in the technological and economical international scene.
Jo Caudron spoke about managing digital transformation in Real Estate at CIB Vastgoedcongres 2015.
No sector is safe from disruption, you have to start acting today to transform your company for a digital-first future.
The document discusses trends related to the third industrial revolution including collaborative innovation, the sharing economy, cryptocurrencies, crowdfunding, and distributed manufacturing. It notes that these trends are challenging traditional institutions and models of value creation as knowledge becomes more distributed through open networks and platforms. Organizations will need to both explore new collaborative models and exploit opportunities in these emerging areas to remain competitive in the future.
Jennifer Scott presented on digital transformation at GM. She discussed how technology disruption can happen gradually and then suddenly. Major companies like Blackberry, Nokia, and Kodak failed to transform and went bankrupt. Starbucks successfully transformed in 2007-2009 by refocusing on coffee expertise, engaging employees, expanding globally, sourcing ethically, and innovating. Trends like mobile payments, cashless societies, augmented reality, robotics, and autonomous vehicles will further disrupt many industries. Businesses need to consider how new technologies will impact their models and prepare for major changes.
This document summarizes key aspects of the sharing economy as of October 2015. It describes how technologies like broadband, mobile phones, and cloud computing enable new models of sharing tangible assets like transportation and property through platforms like Uber and AirBnB. It also discusses how these platforms and peer-to-peer transactions are allowing sharing of intangible assets and services. The sharing economy is predicted to grow significantly in coming years and could spawn new forms of capitalism and business models, while also presenting challenges around regulation and trust that developing technologies and societal changes may help address.

CES 2016 Trends and Implications - Havas Tom Goodwin
The document summarizes trends observed at CES 2016. It notes that while hardware changes more slowly than software and expectations, CES 2016 showed an evolution in products that were faster, thinner, cheaper and more connected. Key trends included autonomous mobility with self-driving vehicles; collaborative systems as companies partner to create more value; cognitive robotics becoming more human-like; infinite screens as everything becomes a display; mixed reality with virtual and augmented reality gaining momentum; and diagnostic wearables that closely monitor health metrics.
Participation is required in this session. The document discusses the author's experience with mobile marketing in both nonprofit and political realms. It provides advice for businesses considering mobile tools, emphasizing that mobile marketing is well-suited for smaller businesses. The key points are to focus on the basics like mobile-optimized websites before considering more complex tools like apps.
When many start exploring mobile marketing, it’s not uncommon for them to believe they need an app. Curt Prins will walk you through what to consider before you invest in what may turn out only to be a vanity app.
This presentation takes a quick glance at the 4 phases of web and discuss briefly about how the 4 major disruptions of web 4.0 technology are going to drive the companies in the future.
