Intel is an American semiconductor company and inventor of the x86 microprocessor. In the early 1990s, Intel launched its "Intel Inside" ingredient branding strategy to differentiate itself from competitors and build a consumer brand. The campaign convinced computer manufacturers to feature the Intel Inside logo in their marketing. This created brand awareness for Intel chips amongst both manufacturers and consumers. The strategy was highly successful, with awareness of the Intel logo among European PC buyers growing from 24% to nearly 80% after just one year. The campaign helped make Intel the most valuable brands in the world and increased its market capitalization significantly.
