Part I
Title of Training Offered: "Communicating Effectively in the Workplace"
Description: Effective workplace communication is important in
companies with workplace diversity. Good communication skills help
to reduce the barriers erected because of language and cultural
differences.
Purpose: Effective communication is important for the development of
an organization. It is something which helps the managers to perform
the basic functions of management- Planning, Organizing, Motivating
and Controlling. Communication also helps in building people's attitude

Title, Description, Purpose, Targeted Audience and Length of Training
Target Audience: The target audience that I’ve chosen is
“Women” between the ages of 35 – 60. These women are the
ones that are excelling in prime leadership positions and
some hold positions as high as a President, CEO or CFO and
sometimes it is hard for them to communicate with the high
emotionalism that women face each day.
Length of Training: The length of my course of training will
be a power packed 3-day 5 hour session to include; role
playing, topic fused and question/answer period of each
topic.

“Goals”
• Identify the Barriers of Communication - There are many barriers to communication and these may
occur at any stage in the communication process. Effective communication involves overcoming these
barriers and conveying a clear and concise message.
• How a Woman Can Improve Gender Workplace Communication - Among the many differences
between males and females, there's this: girls process language in a part of the brain that uses language for
abstract thinking, while boys' brains rely on visual or auditory areas to feed written or verbal stimulus into
the brain's language centers. The different processing affects both learning and communication.
• Steps of effective communication - No matter who or what audience you must address, the art of
communication can be a daunting task. Here are seven steps to clear and effective communication for even
the most difficult conversations; Stay on Message, Make It a Two-Way Conversation, Making Sense Of It
All, You’re Responsible for Any Failure to Communicate, Respect Your Audience as You Respect
Yourself.

“Defined Goals and Objectives”
The defined goals:
•The ability to identify communication barriers and successfully eliminate those barriers
•Be able to show women ways to enhance their communication in the workplace and not being too
aggressive.
•Provide steps of effective communication, for example;
•Establish Trust,
•Speak Clearly and Concisely,
•Problems in Communication,
•Learn How to Use Tone and Body Language and
•Never Assume Anything
Objectives:
•Audience – Women between the ages of 35-60
• Behavior– Women who want to excel and learn how to manage and adapt in the corporate world working alongside a
male dominated industry.
•Condition–
•Will provide classroom discussions, handouts and lectures,
•Given reading in assign text, participation in role playing and facilitation,
•Provide key examples of women who have excelled in the work place and their testimonies.
•An assignment will be given on some of the key materials handed out and discussed to present a
PowerPoint presentation on key notes on ‘women in the workplace’
•Degree –
•Participating in role play,
•Participating in discussions, and
•Providing their opinions on how to handle ways of being a women in the
workplace

• I plan to organize my lecture via PowerPoint

way the students can follow along and take notes
• I will reference electronic books as it relates to
the following sessions;

Resources, Length of Time and Individuals Involved
•Resources needed and materials that must be prepared ;
Need video screen with audio, need copies of materials bound and printed, need pens, need
notepads, have training room set-up to seat (5) at a table with materials.
•Total length of time your course or training will take;
It’s a 3-day 5 hour session
•Individuals involved (facilitator, learners, administrators) with implementation
I will facilitate, the learners are the women who signed up and use the IT administrators to
make sure that I have readily available with the audio and video equipment and need their
assistance with set-up of PowerPoint presentations.

Implementation process
How to Implement the Plan
Communicating the Plan:
I will communicate my training course to the corporation, by allowing them to view each part of the
plan and letting them know the timeline each day by providing a 15 min break in the mid-morning and
another in the afternoon. A light breakfast with coffee, water and Danishes to start, lunch sandwiches
will be provided at noon. Students will have a 30 minute lunch and another 15 minute after break with
snacks such as; chips/popcorn/bars and soda.
Engaging learners during the training/course:
I will enlighten their interests by creating a fun exciting environment; I will start out with a fun skit/role
playing. Role playing will be based upon some difficult real-life situations that each have experienced
on the job and allow the students to tell me what they’d like to discuss.

  • 4. Part I Title of Training Offered: "Communicating Effectively in the Workplace" Description: Effective workplace communication is important in companies with workplace diversity. Good communication skills help to reduce the barriers erected because of language and cultural differences. Purpose: Effective communication is important for the development of an organization. It is something which helps the managers to perform the basic functions of management- Planning, Organizing, Motivating and Controlling. Communication also helps in building people's attitude
  • 5. Part I (cont’d) Title, Description, Purpose, Targeted Audience and Length of Training Target Audience: The target audience that I’ve chosen is “Women” between the ages of 35 – 60. These women are the ones that are excelling in prime leadership positions and some hold positions as high as a President, CEO or CFO and sometimes it is hard for them to communicate with the high emotionalism that women face each day. Length of Training: The length of my course of training will be a power packed 3-day 5 hour session to include; role playing, topic fused and question/answer period of each topic.
  • 6. Part I (cont’d) “Goals” • Identify the Barriers of Communication - There are many barriers to communication and these may occur at any stage in the communication process. Effective communication involves overcoming these barriers and conveying a clear and concise message. • How a Woman Can Improve Gender Workplace Communication - Among the many differences between males and females, there's this: girls process language in a part of the brain that uses language for abstract thinking, while boys' brains rely on visual or auditory areas to feed written or verbal stimulus into the brain's language centers. The different processing affects both learning and communication. • Steps of effective communication - No matter who or what audience you must address, the art of communication can be a daunting task. Here are seven steps to clear and effective communication for even the most difficult conversations; Stay on Message, Make It a Two-Way Conversation, Making Sense Of It All, You’re Responsible for Any Failure to Communicate, Respect Your Audience as You Respect Yourself.

Part II “Defined Goals and Objectives” The defined goals: •The ability to identify communication barriers and successfully eliminate those barriers •Be able to show women ways to enhance their communication in the workplace and not being too aggressive. •Provide steps of effective communication, for example; •Establish Trust, •Speak Clearly and Concisely, •Problems in Communication, •Learn How to Use Tone and Body Language and •Never Assume Anything Objectives: •Audience – Women between the ages of 35-60 • Behavior– Women who want to excel and learn how to manage and adapt in the corporate world working alongside a male dominated industry. •Condition– •Will provide classroom discussions, handouts and lectures, •Given reading in assign text, participation in role playing and facilitation, •Provide key examples of women who have excelled in the work place and their testimonies. •An assignment will be given on some of the key materials handed out and discussed to present a PowerPoint presentation on key notes on ‘women in the workplace’ •Degree – •Participating in role play, •Participating in discussions, and •Providing their opinions on how to handle ways of being a women in the workplace

Part II (cont’d) Instructional Strategies & Instructional Technologies Used Instructional Strategies • It will be lectured based • Review of materials • Role Playing • Encourage them to write about ways to break communication barriers Instructional Technologies Used • I plan to organize my lecture via PowerPoint • I plan to provide PowerPoint handouts and that way the students can follow along and take notes • I will reference electronic books as it relates to the following sessions; – Identify the Barriers of Communication – How a Woman Can Improve Gender Workplace Communication – Steps of effective communication
  • 10. Part III Resources, Length of Time, Individuals Involved and Implementation process

Part III Resources, Length of Time and Individuals Involved •Resources needed and materials that must be prepared ; Need video screen with audio, need copies of materials bound and printed, need pens, need notepads, have training room set-up to seat (5) at a table with materials. •Total length of time your course or training will take; It’s a 3-day 5 hour session •Individuals involved (facilitator, learners, administrators) with implementation I will facilitate, the learners are the women who signed up and use the IT administrators to make sure that I have readily available with the audio and video equipment and need their assistance with set-up of PowerPoint presentations.

Part III (cont’d) Implementation process How to Implement the Plan Communicating the Plan: I will communicate my training course to the corporation, by allowing them to view each part of the plan and letting them know the timeline each day by providing a 15 min break in the mid-morning and another in the afternoon. A light breakfast with coffee, water and Danishes to start, lunch sandwiches will be provided at noon. Students will have a 30 minute lunch and another 15 minute after break with snacks such as; chips/popcorn/bars and soda. Engaging learners during the training/course: I will enlighten their interests by creating a fun exciting environment; I will start out with a fun skit/role playing. Role playing will be based upon some difficult real-life situations that each have experienced on the job and allow the students to tell me what they’d like to discuss. Formative Assessments Used: •By the open discussions •Being Observant •Questioning them •Doing self-assessments
