Taking the Training Wheels Off Social SoftwareAlan Lepofsky
The Shift From Sharing To Getting Work Done
Over the last few years employees have slowly grown accustomed to using social software at work. Actions such as posting status updates, sharing links to web sites and publishing personal blogs have provided great starting points for getting people engaged, but now it's time for employees to start using social software to help Get Work Done. In this session we'll discuss the growing trends of using social tools for task/project management and integration of social elements into core-businesses process. You'll hear how departments such as Human Resources, Marketing and Support can use social technologies to improve the way people work. Topics will include social/workforce analytics, social media monitoring, mobile devices and gamification. It's time to take social software from a tool for sharing to a key contributor of company success.

The value of Social Analytics can be surfaced in many ways. Sometimes is quite visual like a leader board that helps motivate participation. Other times it's behind the scenes like the algorithms used to recommend groups to join or pages to read. Either way, social analytics can help you make better informed decisions, provide more relevancies to your interactions and ultimately help you get you and your company be more successful. This session will take a look at some of the real world implementations of social analytics available today from many of the social business vendors. We'll talk about the trends in this space and discuss some of the possible future directions.

This presentation examines how agencies can best integrate mobile with their other digital channels.

The supply chain process today is susceptible to many areas of inefficiencies leading to staggering impact not only on revenue and profitability but also customer satisfaction and brand value. The inefficiencies need to be controlled and managed by the supply chain office which leads to the ‘simple’ asks of supply chain executives. When translated to technology, these asks mainly include needs for real-time information across a variety of sources carrying heterogeneous forms of high volumes of data, extreme processing at astounding speeds, capabilities to simulate different models and predict the future and collaboration and visual platforms that help integrate the supply chain and discover relationships between pockets of information that weren’t visible earlier. In-memory computing can help with all these asks and one can look at leveraging this technology platform for applications across the different supply chain processes to improve its performance. We present 4-5 such use cases of leveraging in-memory computing in improving supply chain performance and demonstrate the solutions, discuss the initial PoC take aways/inferences and illustrate the usage of the application in the context of an enterprise/Infosys client.

5 Ways to Turn Digital Trends into Strategies and Investments into ReturnsRyan Manchee
This webinar focused on what you need to know about how consumer trends will affect your media strategies and business results going into next year. Along with the American Marketing Association, and my colleague Kurt Anderson, we presented five key consumer trends that are causing commotion in the industry today, and paired each trends with best practices for marketers to leverage as they employ smarter strategies for 2016.
This presentation was part of my inspire² North American Roadshow. I focused on the importance of content and context, particularly how we view screen usage and the solutions available to take advantage of the multiscreen shift through social and video, and the importance of open data and connected systems in planning, optimizing, and evaluating campaigns.

Demystifying the Evolution of Rich Media MetricsRyan Manchee
With ever mounting pressure to justify advertising effectiveness against the bottom line, what have we learned from the plethora of data that digital advertising has brought to bear? As clickthrough rates drop it leads some to conclude that “display advertising is dying”. With online metrics based around response, we have driven the fallacy that branding is a predominantly offline process. Is there really a single point of measurement to focus upon or do we need to look deeper to discover what consumers today are doing and apply these learning’s into carefully constructed advertising strategies? By mapping advertising delivery against a consumer lifecycle, we can now begin to develop more targeted and relevant messages that will ensure a greater brand message, higher conversion rate and even a greater ROI for your media spend. Ryan Manchee of DG MediaMind will demystify the evolving online metrics giving confidence back to the value of display media and change the notion of measuring consumer engagement across all media channels.
Engagement Everywhere :: The Future of DigitalRyan Manchee
2012 is the tipping point – when connected devices outnumber people on the planet. What does this mean for marketers looking to engage with the hyper-connected consumer within the evolving media landscape? As consumers continue to embrace mobile devices, is the future of media on the second screen, or will mobile merely act as an enabler for enhancing other media?

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
