The student was inspired by the music video "Rhythm of the Night" for several reasons:
1) The editing conveyed the boy's emotions as he reflected on his past relationship with his girlfriend who had died, switching between scenes of them together and him alone.
2) The mise-en-scene and props made the story feel realistic and relatable.
3) The camera angles allowed the viewer to see from the boy's perspective and personally feel his pain, as if deeply involved in the music video.

This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. 1. Student Music Video that inspires me
The student music video that I will be talking about in this post is the “Rhythm of the night”
music video. The reason why this music video has inspired me is because of the fact that it
was able to convey emotions from me. Another reason why the music video has inspired me
is because of the storyline that is evident throughout the music video. The music video is
about a boy reflecting on the relationship he had with his girlfriend before she died.
One of the main features of the music video that I liked a lot was the editing. Throughout
the whole music video, the cuts between different shots clearly showed whether the boy
was still dreaming that he was with the girl, or if he was just alone in reality. Another feature
of the editing that inspired was by having the lyrics of the chorus come up on the screen. By
having this constantly whenever it was the chorus made the music video have a cereal
feeling that I do not feel from majority of music videos. The final aspect of the editing that
inspires me is the way that the editing speed changes when he is dreaming that he is with
the girl and when he is not. Whenever he is dreaming about him still being with the girl, the
editing is fast paced, but when he realises he isn’t it then becomes slow paced. The pace of
the editing represents whether he is in a good state mind or a bad one. This again made it
easier the feelings that they were trying to evoke from the audience.
Another feature of the music video that inspired me was the Mise-en-scene evident in the
video. The props and attire worn by the characters in the music video represented the music
video a being realistic. As a result of this, it made me feel as though the actions in the music
video and the song its self was more relatable. Evidence of this can be seen by the fact that
the clothes worn by both characters are clothes that anyone can buy from casual shops such
as “Top man” or “Top Woman”. Also the car driven in the music video is a very cheap car
that is very popular. This further enhanced the relatability of the music video for me. As a
result of these factors I felt inspired by the music video because it made it seem that all the
actions taking place in the music video where relatable.
The camera angles evident in the music video allow you to see from the perspective of the
boy what he is going through. This is done through personal shots such as over the shoulder,
establishing and both high angle and low angle shots. By having these shots constantly
evident throughout the music video it personally made me feel as I was going through the
pain with him. This was another thing that inspired me about their music video, the fact that
they made me feel I was actually deeply involved with the music video.
