The domain of Diversity of learners emphasizes the ideal that teachers can facilitate the
learning process in diverse types of learners, by first recognizing and respecting individual. Then
using knowledge about students’ differences to design diverse sets of learning activities to ensure
that all learners can attain appropriate learning rules. In line in these needs of learning, it very
important that teachers are responsive by considering their perceptual abilities in any educative
process. That is why FVR Phase 2 Elementary School headed by Mrs. Jennifer E. Castillo
conducted a SLAC that aims to equipped the teachers with skills, attitude and values that cater all
types of learners. From selecting an appropriate teaching methodology to authentic and objective
assessment tools that measure students’ performance.
In the discussion of Ma’am May Ann Linquico, she focused on the understanding of the
diversity of learners and Howard Gardner on his theory of multiple intelligence. She also
mentioned the importance of diversified learning activity that motivates learners to actively
participate in the teaching learning process. At the end of the discussion, Mrs. Castillo encouraged
all the teachers to share their own experiences on how they monitor their learners’ progress despite
of their different perceptual abilities portrayed inside the classroom.
