This lesson plan is for teaching the poem "Follower" to 9th grade English students. The plan aims to help students develop an appreciation for work, critically think about human resource development issues, and develop an interest in reading poems. Students will read the poem individually and as a class, learning about rhyme, imagery and the poet's depiction of a father and son working together on a farm. They will discuss vocabulary, themes and questions about the poem. Students will then be divided into groups to present on poetic devices, imagery and rhyme scheme in the poem.
