The Naked Truth About Digital Talent (and skills)Lori Kent
This document proposes a panel discussion at SXSW Interactive 2015 about the most essential digital skills needed in today's workforce and how to educate people on these skills, as digital knowledge remains elusive and new skills are needed urgently. The panel would be led by a technologist and educator to have an open discussion on ending the fear around digital skills and instead embracing learning.
We presented our view point on how to hire and retain digital talent in this day and age. Essentially our point of view is - they don't need to be digital, just smart and have the drive to learn.
The business landscape is changing. It's driven by significant changes in infrastructure, economics, and 3 big technology shifts that are happening simultaneously. On top of that there are emerging technologies that have the potential for an even more profound effect on the World economy and our business. I want to make you step back and look at things we already know about the digital landscape, the digital workplace and digital disruption and look at them with fresh eyes and think about them differently. We call this the Digital Enterprise Wave - ride it, or go under.
Setting the scene for the Enterprise Digital Workplace Summit, 6 June 2018, at the British Academy. We live in a time of exponential change and disruption. What we call the Digital Enterprise Wave may become a Tsunami adding Artificial intelligence and blockchain to the other emerging technologies. A management shift, but change is happening across the workplace with the "gig mindset". What is a digital workplace anyway? Finally a reminder of the 8 Strategic Building Blocks for digital transformation, a plea to focus less on technology and more on people, and 2 key recommendations.

To enable innovation in a large and dispersed organization, there is a need for a shared digital platform with simple, social, mobile, smart and situation-aware services that allow people - employees, partners and customers - to get inspired, openly share ideas, and collaborate to implement the best ideas - big or small.
There is an overwhelming amount of information in the technology news about artificial intelligence (AI) and bots in the enterprise. One issue is the gap between hype and reality. The other issue covers whether AI and bots will take our jobs. Whether we are talking about bots for Atlassian's JIRA and HipChat to recent announcements by Workplace by Facebook about opening up it's Work Chat API to chat bots, AI and bots are happening. The question is how can we use them to improve how we do our job?
According to Scott Middleton, founder and CEO of Stratejos, "These bots will replace jobs but it will be the boring parts of our jobs. They'll take care of the tedious, administrative side while giving us new information and insights we don't currently have. Freeing us to do bigger, more creative things."
Middleton will join the ServiceRocket webinar to discuss:
- AI in the enterprise: Why now?
- What is an enterprise bot?
- What is possible today addressing the difference between hype and reality.
- What is possible (inevitable) tomorrow.

Rethinking Digital - Successful Enablement for the Digital Transformation - i...David Terrar
My Rethinking Digital 2nd keynote from the i2 Summit 2015 in Zurich. About rethinking digital, providing building blocks and an implementation approach for your transformation, and hopefully inspiring you to do something differently tomorrow in your digital business efforts. Everyone's talking digital and it's dangerous... too dangerous to dilute the term, but crucially important that we understand it properly. Digital is becoming a synonym for technology or new or new technology. You need to understand the digital enterprise wave - the current disruptive landscape. This document summarizes a presentation about using Microsoft Teams in response to changes in business culture. The presentation discusses how digitization and changing generational expectations are transforming business and culture. It advocates that companies adopt digital tools like Teams and emphasizes that successful digital transformation requires changes to culture and mindset, not just strategy or tools. The presentation outlines workshops and change management processes to help companies adapt their culture and embrace new ways of working enabled by technology.
You’ve seen the future for your organisation and it's unquestionably digital. But then the questions start: Who goes on the journey? How do you lead them along? What direction? How fast? What’s the path? Is the journey the same for everyone throughout the business?
Embarking on a Digital Transformation (DT) strategy can seem daunting enough. But when you apply that strategy to large teams, the numerous complexities and variables can make the whole project appear just too exhausting a proposition to even bother taking the first step, let alone all those steps that must inevitably follow if it is to succeed.
So how do you bring your team on the journey?
Moving from Social Technology towards an Operating System for the OrganisationLee Bryant
This document discusses moving from using social technologies in organizations to developing an "operating system" approach. It argues that while social tools are useful, organizations also need to change their underlying structure to be more adaptive, customer-centric, networked and data-driven. The document provides examples of agile and platform-based approaches from software that could inspire organizational transformation, focusing on distributed and iterative processes. The goal is for organizations to develop capabilities for continuous change and responsiveness like a connected "operating system".
This document discusses how people analytics and big data can transform human resources and the future of work. It notes that more data has been generated in the last few years than in all of human history, and that data is now being used by companies to make people decisions. The document outlines several key points about people analytics, including how data can help reduce attrition, develop leaders, and improve business performance. It also provides an example of how Google used people analytics research to determine the most important skills for managers to have engaged employees.
IT and human capital: Yin and Yang in your digital workplaceXylos
This document discusses the importance of managing the human aspect of digital transformations. While 9/10 organizations are undergoing digital transformations, only 27% achieve their desired business value. The biggest challenge is overcoming cultural resistance to change. Effective change management is the number one contributor to successful transformations. It involves anticipating human reactions to change and guiding individuals through communication, learning, and sponsorship. Managers must be transformed into change leaders who create awareness, address objections, and help with transitions. With proper change management focusing on the people side, transformations can successfully deliver business value.

The Evolution of the Intranet: Creating a Culture of CollaborationC5 Insight
Collaboration as we know it has changed dramatically over the years. It wasn't that long ago that we had to make a concerted effort to connect with one another; now that same effort is required to disconnect. So why do organizations continue to struggle to connect and engage with employees, customers and partners?
Collaboration tools are both numerous and sophisticated, but are we really better off? If we have the tools, the technology and the will, then why aren't we doing a better job with collaboration in our organizations? In short: Is a company that has a robust Intranet and can truly work together better nothing more than a myth - a lofty goal to which we aspire but will never attain?
In this session, we'll tackle these questions and more, taking an in-depth look into why collaboration projects fail to meet our expectations and what organizations can do today to forge new connections, become more productive, increase employee engagement, and build an Intranet that fosters a culture of collaboration.

The Evolution and Impact of OTT Platforms: A Deep Dive into the Future of Ent...ABHILASH DUTTA
This presentation provides a thorough examination of Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms, focusing on their development and substantial influence on the entertainment industry, with a particular emphasis on the Indian market. We begin with an introduction to OTT platforms, defining them as streaming services that deliver content directly over the internet, bypassing traditional broadcast channels. These platforms offer a variety of content, including movies, TV shows, and original productions, allowing users to access content on-demand across multiple devices. The historical context covers the early days of streaming, starting with Netflix's inception in 1997 as a DVD rental service and its transition to streaming in 2007. The presentation also highlights India's television journey, from the launch of Doordarshan in 1959 to the introduction of Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television in 2000, which expanded viewing choices and set the stage for the rise of OTT platforms like Big Flix, Ditto TV, Sony LIV, Hotstar, and Netflix. The business models of OTT platforms are explored in detail. Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) models, exemplified by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, offer unlimited content access for a monthly fee. Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) models, like iTunes and Sky Box Office, allow users to pay for individual pieces of content. Advertising-Based Video on Demand (AVOD) models, such as YouTube and Facebook Watch, provide free content supported by advertisements. Hybrid models combine elements of SVOD and AVOD, offering flexibility to cater to diverse audience preferences.
Content acquisition strategies are also discussed, highlighting the dual approach of purchasing broadcasting rights for existing films and TV shows and investing in original content production. This section underscores the importance of a robust content library in attracting and retaining subscribers. The presentation addresses the challenges faced by OTT platforms, including the unpredictability of content acquisition and audience preferences. It emphasizes the difficulty of balancing content investment with returns in a competitive market, the high costs associated with marketing, and the need for continuous innovation and adaptation to stay relevant.
The impact of OTT platforms on the Bollywood film industry is significant. The competition for viewers has led to a decrease in cinema ticket sales, affecting the revenue of Bollywood films that traditionally rely on theatrical releases. Additionally, OTT platforms now pay less for film rights due to the uncertain success of films in cinemas.
Looking ahead, the future of OTT in India appears promising. The market is expected to grow by 20% annually, reaching a value of ₹1200 billion by the end of the decade. The increasing availability of affordable smartphones and internet access will drive this growth, making OTT platforms a primary source of entertainment for many viewers.
