Embed a culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship within the DBSA Identify I & E Champions and equip them with the relevant tools, techniques and skills Identify and communicate themes for project identification Ensure a system of open innovation within the DBSA that allows all staff to participate through simple processes Ensure reward and recognition mechanisms are in place for staff and champions – Bi – annual awards Create opportunities for champions to interact with specialists Create platform for discussions on entrepreneurship and innovation through dialogues, seminars and the annual conference Identify strategic partnerships and support initiatives that deliver on mandate Role of the I & E Unit
Understand Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the context of DBSA Facilitate discussions that identify initiatives: Within division With other divisions if needed Actively participate in initiatives planned by the I & E Unit Promote and understanding of I & E within the DBSA (Championing) Use tools and skills received in Workshops to actively engage with staff on identifying projects and initiatives that could be selected for implementation Identify future I & E Champions Assist with embedding a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the DBSA   Role of the Champions
