The U.S. Department of Energy awarded $5.25 million to five university-led clean energy business incubators. The incubators aim to accelerate the commercialization of energy efficient and renewable energy technologies by providing resources like funding, business mentoring, and networking opportunities to clean energy entrepreneurs. They work with regional universities, investors, and industry to transition technologies out of labs and into the marketplace. The five awardees are located in regions across the U.S. and support the development of clean energy startups.
