Ingrid Visser is a marine biologist from New Zealand who studies orcas (killer whales). She began her PhD research on orcas in 1992. Since then, she has identified individual orcas and observed them over dozens of encounters, taking thousands of photos. Her research on orca behavior in New Zealand and Antarctica has been published in numerous scientific journals. She also founded an organization called Adopt an Orca to raise awareness and funds for her orca research.
