The 'Informing Healthier Choices' (IHC) programme was launched by the Department of Health to improve the availability and quality of health information and intelligence across England. It targeted six key health areas including health inequalities, smoking, obesity, sexual health, mental health, and alcohol harm, aiming to provide essential data and enhance public health capabilities. Through collaboration with various partners, the programme successfully delivered improved public health resources, training, and web-based support, achieving significant budget savings and establishing a sustainable legacy for ongoing health initiatives.
