What is an informational text?
 Informational texts are written works that provide facts,
data, and knowledge about specific topics. They aim to
educate and inform the reader without offering personal
opinions or fictional narratives.
 These texts are commonly found in textbooks, manuals,
news articles, and other non-fiction sources.
 There are 2 types of informational text: journalistic text
and non-journalistic text (expository text).
Journalistic Text
 Journalistic text is a type of text or writing that is clear,
concise and colorful.
 It may refer to several kinds of texts contained in a
newspaper: advertising, horoscopes, weather, crosswords,
business reports, cartoons, film/book reviews, obituaries,
and columns but the most representative genre is the
informative news report (articles, editorials).
Non-journalistic Text (Expository Text)
 Expository texts are texts that give facts, examples, and
information about a topic.
 It presents information in a logical order.
 It uses different text structures to organize information.
