The presentation talks about key FTTx deployment fundamentals, possible pitfalls and remedies for the same. Also, the presentation provides insights on how to avoid such pitfalls in the future, which includes the continual service improvement (CSI). In addition, the presentation examples its experience managing such FTTx deployment pitfalls in ASEAN region.
Operator key takeaways of this presentation includes understanding the pitfalls in complex mixed FTTx and wireless networks. Another learning of this presentation is to managing them by leveraging Cyient’s S3 (Services, Solutions & Systems) portfolio.
All components of the 5G platform is in place, we are making our system truly end-to-end with the new products we are introducing. With two new 5G Radios, AIR 6488 and AIR 5121 that, together with the AIR 6468, launched 2016, give us a complete portfolio of 5G radios for Massive MIMO with new mid-band and high-band versions.
How can you shorten your lead time in a dynamic market? Ericsson NFVi solution presentation starts with an overview of the opportunities & challenges with the Internet of Things (IoT). Then, it presents the requirements on the network infrastructure to support key 5G use cases, based on network slicing. It continues showing how Ericsson NFVi solution – a pre-integrated, open and verified platform – can enable rapid time to market for virtualization projects. It follows by sharing how to leverage telco cloud strategy to create value and make your network more agile and your operations more efficient. It concludes with key learnings from projects with early adopters, using the Ericsson telco cloud Target Operating Model, that lead our customers to a successful cloud adoption. Let Ericsson empower your digital transformation!

5G: a revolution or an evolution for IoT by Merouane DEBBAH, HuaweiEuroIoTa
Targeted for 2020, 5G will take the eco-system to a whole new level. New applications, new business models and even new industries will spring up around 5G. With 5G, we can expect our high speed connections to extend into our vehicles, into our things, with fewer interruptions and new ways of working or remote working starting to take off. If we look at some of the goals of 5G versus where we are today, we can see the gap that has to be bridged over the next few years. The goal of 1ms latency is nearly 50x better than current LTE systems. In order to go from 100Mbps per user to 10Gbps, we need 100x the throughput per connection. The current 10,000 connections per square kilometer needs to increase to 1Million connections which is a 100x increase in density. Reliable communications today with LTE top can sustain 350km/h and we expect to bring that up by 1.5x to 500km/h . Finally the current core networks and backhaul/front-haul are inflexible with wasted pools of bandwidth. The introduction of SDN/NFV will allow much better ability to chop up and virtualize the network resources for lower operational costs and capital costs and much greater flexibility. In this talk, we will briefly describe the candidate 5G technologies and provide a look at the actual worldwide standardization process.
The presentation provides the solutions those can be leveraged for network transformation; either it be, fixed or mobile, the solutions help CSPs to transit the networks with minimal downtime.
With the Ericsson 5G Core System we have built an architecture that is highly flexible, modular, and scalable. It supports a much higher degree of programmability and is ready to exist in a cloud-based environment. We help you to quickly react to new challenges and capture any business opportunity that arise.

ION Sri Lanka - IPv6 Deployment Update - Where are we now?
Two Years After World IPv6 Launch: Are We There Yet?
Vivek Nigam (APNIC)
June 2014 marked the 2nd anniversary of World IPv6 Launch, when thousands of Internet Service Providers, home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world came together to permanently enable IPv6 on their products and services. Where are we now on the path to full global IPv6 adoption? We’ll discuss the current state of IPv6 adoption, including statistics and lessons learned from and since World IPv6 Launch, and the next steps needed to move forward with IPv6 deployment.
The demand of bandwidth is exploding irrespective to the global economic slowdown. It comes from new sources and new devices and the change is going fast. We must not forget to consider our fast-moving environment when telling our new story. These global trends affect us as a carrier. And at the same time our network and services are a part of making them possible.
Socialization of everything - Online socialization is changing the very basis for how people behave and interact. On an individual level, and in society at large.
Anywhereization - Wherever you are, you want instant access to everything, no matter where it is. As a global carrier we are keeping it all together
A flattening world - Today we see global access to knowledge that previously was limited to a chosen few – all made possible through connectivity. We support this for instance through our donations to the Wikimedia foundation, which runs Wikipedia.
The age of diversity - Access to network capabilities will come in many shapes and forms, with diverse business models coexisting for the foreseeable future.
Connecting the dots - We believe that every industry will eventually rely on connectivity to create value. The ones that best leverage the network will outpace their competitors.
The world is going online and it is the carriers that make it happen.
We have to optimize our network so that you can access anything, anywhere, anytime

This important session will explore how innovations in technology and business models have created a viable opportunity for MNOs and ISPs to extend their service into previously unconnected areas while ensuring economic viability. We have a mix of technology and service provider perspectives
This presentation highlights the progress made in SDN/NFV in the past year. In terms of technology we have started to talk about use cases that require much deeper integration with existing network infrastructure. New revenues are increasingly becoming the dominant business rationale for adopting SDN and NFV – a shift from a CAPEX/OPEX driven focus last year. More importantly, we are evaluating the operational impacts of the migration and this is widely expected to be the long tail of this network evolution journey.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
