How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

- 6. 3 + 7 + 9 + 4 ≥ Back to the Soda! 3(0.25) + 7(0.05) + 9(0.10) + 4(0.01) ≥ 2.00 0.75 + 0.35 + 0.90 + 0.04 ≥ 2.00 2.04 ≥ 2.00 Can Miss Hill get her soda or will she stay parched through this entire lesson?? Why or why not? +
- 7. Blair and Nicole are going to buy a present for their new friend, Josiah. The present costs $50 and they’ve decided to split it. Nicole, who works hard mowing lawns, has already saved her $25. Blair, on the other hand, has only saved $19 doing random chores around her house. Blair only has 2 days available to work between now between now and when the girls will go shopping. How much money does she need to earn each day to have her half of the total?
- 8. Wow – lots of words! Let’s find the useful stuff! 19 (money Blair has saved) + 2x (days Blair has to make the money) ≥ 25 (Blair’s half of the gift) 19 + 2x ≥ 25 -19 -19 ÷ 2 ÷ 2 2x ≥ 6 x ≥ 3 Blair must make greater than or equal to $3 each day. How would we say this in everyday language?
