INDUSTRIAL POLICY
At the time of Independence, the India economy was fasting serve
problems of illiteracy, poverty, low per capita income, industrial
backwardness, and unemployment. After India attended the
independence in 1947, a science of effort was made to begin an era for
industrial development . The government adopted the rules and
regulations for the various industries . This industrial policy
introduction proved to be the turning point in India industrial history.

INDUSTRIAL POLICY RESOLUTION 1948
An 6th April 1948 Government of India announced the first
industrial policy . At the time the India industry was in scheme.
❑ Exclusive state monopoly
❑ State monopoly for new units
❑ Fully private enterprises
❑ Private industry to be regulated by the state

INDUSTRIAL POLICY RESOLUTION 1956
The industrial policy resolution 1948 the development
necessitated the announcement of IPR on 30th April 1956.
The policy deviated the industry into three broad categories for
allocation between a public and private sector such as ,
❖ SCHEDULE A Under this 17 industries
❖ SCHEDULE B under this 12 industries
❖ SCHEDULE C not included schedule a and b

INDUSTRIAL POLICY RESOLUTION 1973
This is a reiteration of the industrial policy resolution of 1956
and supplement to the industrial licensing policy of 1970 It has
elaborated the concept the join sector and made it will to to allow
larger industrial house to produce item reserve to small scale
sector. Larger unit are defend as those having assets of cores or
move. These unit are permitting to participate in basic critical and
strategic industries. Existing policy if resolution to small sale
sector is to be continued.

INDUSTRIAL POLICY RESOLUTION 1977
The 1977 policy have highest priority to the small scale and tiny
industries for the first times . 1977 industrial policy define a “ tiny
unit” as unit with interment in machinery and equipment up to
Rest 1 lakh and situated in towns and village when population of
less than 50,000 ( as per 1971 census). It is new policy of state
meant 1977 December 23 . Development small scale sector
reserve to small scale industries expand from 180 to 504 and the to
807 in may 1978 .

INDUSTRIAL POLICY RESOLUTION 1980
When congress came back to power 1980 a new industrial
policy was announced the policy main development small scale
industries in India. The government of India adopted a the IPR
Industrial policy resolution on July 23, 1980 . The main objective
of IPR 1980 was defend as fascinating increase in industrial
production thought optimum utilization of installed capacity and
expansion of industries.

In July 1991 The government of India announced a new industrial policy

GOVERNMENT MEASUREMENTS
The overall tax burden equals 7.3 percent of total domestic
income. Government spending had amounted to 27.1 present of
the country output GDP over the past Three years and budget
deficits has average 6.9 percent of GDP . Public department. is
equivalent to 69.8 percent of GDP gross domestic product.

The industrial policy 1956 thus provide compressive framework
for industrial development in India. However, this policy has been
criticized on the ground that buy enormously expanding the field
of public sector is had drastically reduce the area of activity for the
private sector. To restore the economy on the path of rapid and
healthy economic growth. Reform the put Indian economy on a
higher growth plan .

INDUSTRIAL POLICY RESOLUTION 1977 The 1977 policy have highest priority to the small scale and tiny industries for the first times . 1977 industrial policy define a “ tiny unit” as unit with interment in machinery and equipment up to Rest 1 lakh and situated in towns and village when population of less than 50,000 ( as per 1971 census).
