1) Tera-Sachim conducted an experiment called "DELTA" to monitor an industrial production line and assess its energy efficiency using IoT sensors, gateways, and cloud-based analytics.
2) The system had some issues, like some necessary data needing manual input and some sensors not being installable on machinery. It also had problems updating historical data visualizations.
3) Lessons learned were that cyber-physical systems can provide valuable energy monitoring benefits, and the experience gained can be applied to other related projects. The benefits included improved production process and energy efficiency monitoring.
Cofely, an energy services company, needed a software to monitor and control energy usage across hundreds of sites throughout Spain. Their previous SCADA software could not handle the large scale of the project. Cofely implemented Ignition software, which provided unlimited tags, web deployment so clients did not need local installation, and integration with maps to easily view and switch between remote sites. The Ignition system has been running smoothly since 2013 and allows Cofely to customize their own energy management solution.

Keynote - Cloud Foundry Foundation - ApacheCon NA 2015Chip Childers
It wasn’t too long ago that artisans, bathed in the glow of molten metal, forged parts that would go on to make up bigger, more powerful machines. Today, we call those artisans developers. Instead of metal, they use bits and bytes in the cloud to forge a modern application architecture that supports public, private and hybrid application deployment. One that enables users and developers to move their applications wherever they need to go. And it’s built on a growing, vibrant ecosystem.
Nowhere is this epic shift in how things are made more visible than the meteoric adoption of Cloud Foundry. In this talk, Cloud Foundry technology chief of staff Chip Childers will give attendees an inside look at the economic forces that have made Cloud Foundry the fastest growing open source project in history.
He will also provide a look at the technologies driving this new level of efficiency for application developers (tech like containers, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry and social coding tools like GitHub). And he’ll explain why many prominent members of the Fortune 500 are building their futures on this modern application architecture.

Fog Computing: Helping the Internet of Things Realize its PotentialHarshitParkar6677
Fog computing is a distributed computing paradigm that performs storage and processing of data close to IoT devices to help address issues of latency, bandwidth, and scalability. It extends cloud computing and services to the edge of the network by leveraging edge devices such as routers, switches, and access points. Fog computing helps overcome limitations of cloud and edge computing alone by avoiding resource contention at the edge through use of geographically distributed edge devices and cloud resources. It supports real-time analytics through dynamic task placement across edge and cloud resources to minimize latency. Challenges to realizing fog computing's potential include enabling real-time analytics, developing programming models for dynamic environments, and addressing security, reliability, and power consumption issues in distributed fog

IRJET- Smart Dustbin Container using IoT NotificationIRJET Journal
This document describes a smart dustbin system that uses sensors and IoT technology to monitor garbage levels in public dustbins. An ultrasonic sensor measures the garbage level in the dustbin and an ESP8266 WiFi module sends this data via the internet. When the dustbin reaches 70% capacity, an SMS alert is sent to the local authorities. This notifies them to empty the overflowing dustbin and maintain cleanliness. The system aims to optimize waste collection, reduce costs and pollution from frequent emptying of partially filled dustbins.

Automatic Irrigation System using IoT. IRJET Journal
This document summarizes an academic paper that proposes an automatic irrigation system using IoT (Internet of Things) technology. The system uses sensors to monitor soil moisture levels and sends the data via an Android application to a database. If the soil moisture is low, the system automatically turns on the water pump. The system aims to reduce water loss and the time farmers spend monitoring fields. It was tested successfully in irrigating a plant. Future work could expand it for larger areas of land and integrate additional sensors to monitor soil quality and crop growth.
The document is a training report submitted for an NPTEL course on Internet of Things (IoT). It discusses an IoT-based keychain finder project completed by three students - Pragya Jha, Rishik Sharma, and Shivam Pruthi. The project involves developing a circuit using an ESP8266 module, buzzer, and battery to allow finding lost keys by triggering the buzzer remotely via a web interface. The report details the components used, circuit diagram, code explaining how it works, and assembly of the printed circuit board.
The convenient and user friendly entrance to the cyber world - an important step for industrial devices that will determine the manufacturing and automation of the future. Thanks to the integration of IT functions into conventional industrial devices, the standard automation technology to date will emancipate itself, and pave the way to digital networking and tighter integration.

IRJET- Machine Learning for Weather Prediction and Forecasting for Local Weat...IRJET Journal
This document summarizes a research project that uses machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to monitor local weather conditions and predict future weather values. Sensors are used to monitor temperature, humidity, and pressure at a local weather station. The sensed data is sent to a cloud platform via a Wi-Fi module and microcontroller. A machine learning model called ARIMA (Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average) analyzes the time series sensor data to predict future weather values. The predicted values are then displayed on a website to provide localized weather forecasts for that specific area. The system provides a portable alternative to existing weather websites by focusing on microclimate changes for a particular local zone.
1. The document describes a proposed object detection bot that uses a Raspberry Pi, camera modules, and cloud services from AWS to accurately detect objects like plastic bottles, metal cans, and abandoned baggage.
2. The system uses a hybrid approach with both edge computing on the Raspberry Pi using SSD object detection models, as well as AWS cloud services for storage, analytics, and notifications. Video feeds are ingested into AWS Kinesis and objects detected on the edge are sent to AWS SNS for notifications.
3. An evaluation showed the system could reliably detect objects and send notifications within seconds, demonstrating the feasibility of combining local edge computing and cloud services for object detection on resource-constrained devices.
This document highlight the growth of IoT market in manufacturing and list most common industry uses cases as well as the adoption and impact path of IIoT
This system monitors the work of laborers in an industry by recording the operation time of machines and details of the workers operating them. The system uses an Arduino microcontroller connected to WiFi, RFID, IR sensors and other hardware. RFID tags identify each worker and the sensors track machine usage time and production quantity. This data is sent over WiFi to a web server where it can be viewed on a webpage by management. The system aims to give management better visibility into production monitoring and labor efficiency to improve productivity.

Building a Raspberry Pi Robot with Dot NET 8, Blazor and SignalRPeter Gallagher
In this session delivered at NDC Oslo 2024, I talk about how you can control a 3D printed Robot Arm with a Raspberry Pi, .NET 8, Blazor and SignalR.
I also show how you can use a Unity app on an Meta Quest 3 to control the arm VR too.
