Plugwise is a technology company based in the Netherlands that develops hardware and software solutions for building efficiency and energy management. They produce socket energy meters, switches, and sensors that wirelessly monitor and control energy consumption. Their solutions measure energy usage at the main, sub, and appliance levels to provide homeowners and businesses with insights into their energy use. Plugwise's products and software work together as a home or business energy management system and form the basis for smart grid applications by allowing better alignment of energy demand and supply.

externals for engineering. Furthermore Plugwise has distributors in the UK,

As of December 2010 Alliander NV, the largest Grid Owner of the
Netherlands (government owned), has acquired a minority share in Plugwise
( 25%).
As of December 2013 the Japanese company Otsuka Corporation has
acquired a minority share in Plugwise (4%)
