journey from the
beginning.
Since I was a child, I had known
cannabis as ‘Ganja’. This taboo in
society is so much ingrained so
that it’s difficult for a common person
to see the brighter side of it. But after
researching about it I had found out that
its roots belong to Indian mythology
as well. In fact, according to shiva
Puran cannabis is amongst the top
five sacred plants in the world.
Hence at that point, the choice to
see cannabis in a different light was
left on me.
And, years later I can make people
look at cannabis by considering
the inexpedient uses through
‘Cannabie India’. I’ve been paying
attention to how my lifestyle
impacts my carbon footprint,
and I know many people like
me who are becoming more and
more aware of the consequences
of their lifestyle choices for the
environment. Hence, I am taking
this step which will take care of the
future which we borrowed from
our children.
How do you manage the
promotion of your projects
through social media

The first step to promoting on social media is
choosing the right social media platform. It takes
some research to find where your audience likes to
hang out, as well as some willingness to experiment
and try different platforms. We have been very
much aggressive with the content on the major
social media platform to gain a unique brand voice

while promoting Cannabie on social media we
had to be very sensitive regarding the message we
deliver as the laws and policies are not favourable
enough in India right now.

failures, we simply

our best at work, but we do

Can you describe emerging trends
you've noticed in the fashion industry?
I feel that consumer trends affect all industries,
but perhaps none more so than fashion. Public
sentiment drives purchasing decisions, and fashion
brands need to know what consumers
want before releasing their next range. Hence it is
all about know where the consumer behaviour is
going; only then a fashion brand will keep up with
the pace of emerging fashion trends.
What are your upcoming fashion
trends?
Because there is an obvious rise in hemp products
throughout the world, and because fashion also
moves in trends, we can pretty confidently say that
there will be less cotton clothing and apparel in
production over the decade of 2021. Say goodbye to
cotton shirts and pants, and hello to slightly stiffer
and possibly more comfortable hemp apparels.
This Summer we want everyone to get high on
style! As our latest summer collection is about to
launch! Previously we successfully delivered our
handcrafted winter collection which was made up
of wool and hemp. We have also Hemp facemasks,
Hemp Kurta’s and soon we are launching a Hemp

The thought behind
Why not start this text with the good old classic “it
all started back in…” well, back in 2003 in our case.
Magnus had made his way to Sri Lanka while studying at
university, and that’s where he first discovered the magic
of customized dress shirts.
An idea was born
Why not offer this concept to the large masses? Made
to Measure was nothing new back then but nobody had
revolutionized the industry in ages. His friend Nalin, who
he met when in Sri Lanka, made sure our first production
was set up and to this day still holds the title of Managing
Director. What happened next? Well, Magnus went back
home to Sweden and together with Mats-Ola he put this
idea to the test. You guessed right, it was a good one.

in terms of heel height (from 1 inch to 3 inches) and also
the type of heel (from block to stiletto) with just one shoe.

Blooming
Many brands are determined to take advantage of
India’s blossoming growth. The majority are likely
to choose one of three routes. First, players can
partner with existing e-commerce platforms. This is
most suitable for players with low brand awareness
and relatively little capital to invest; it also offers a
good way to test demand and customer preferences.
Second, brands that have little local knowledge
and are looking to enter the market quickly can
do so with a franchise model, developing brick-
and-mortar retail spaces. Finally, players that have
significant local knowledge and capital resources
can create fully owned and operated stores.
Certainty, uncertainty and relaxation
Indian authorities are certainly keen to promote
investment. Relaxed regulations on foreign direct
investment (for example, allowing 100 per cent
foreign-owned single-brand retail operations)
will probably lead to more overseas-originated
activity through the value chain. We expect more
outsourcing and more brand-owned stores without
