“A statement of undying love”. Taj
Mahal, Agra, is undoubtedly
one of the supreme
accomplishments of Mughal
Emperor Shah Jahan, the ruler
of the Mughal Empire of India,
who was known for his
architectural achievements,
commissioned the building of
the Taj Mahal as a tomb for his
beloved queen in glaring white
marble that the world would
never forget.
The tall and ever attractive
monument of Delhi which
can be seen from most
parts of the city is called
the Qutub Minar. Mughals
used to build victory
towers to proclaim and
celebrate victories. Some
say the Minaret was used to
offer prayer but it is so tall
that you can hear the
person standing on the top.
The red was the residence of
the Mughal Emperor of
India for nearly 200 years,
until 1857. It is located in
the centre of Delhi and
houses a number of
museums. In addition to
accommodating the
emperors and their
households, it was their
ceremonial and political
centre of mughal
government and setting for
events critically impacting
the region.
The India Gate, is a war memorial
located astride the Rajpath India
gate is a memorial to 82,000
soldiers of the undivided British
Indian Army who died in the
period 1914–21 in the First World
War in France and elsewhere in
the Near and the Far East, and the
Third Anglo-Afghan War. 13,300
servicemen's names, including
some soldiers and officers from
the United Kingdom, are
inscribed on the gate. The India
Gate evokes the architectural style
of the triumphial arc and is often
compared to the Arc de Triomphe
in Paris. It was designed by
Sir Edwin Lutyens..
