On 06 August 2017 karyakartas started packing of the kits in an absolutely smooth and systematic manner, a real sight to see how the boxes moved from one point to another and finally a completely filled, packed and labeled boxes were arranged and only due to this team work the task of preparing 500 kits with 24 pieces of utensils, 14 types of grocery items got completed within 4 hours.
The village Valpura of Kankrej tehsil, Banaskantha district has suffered severely with death of 3 people, more than 180 animals have been swept away in the floods and only 2 day before the road connection has been re-established with the prime cities of Gujarat.
After the journey of 8 hours through damaged roads and along the way viewing the gruesome effect of flood, karyakartas arrived at Valpura. 5 teams of 5 members in each was formed. 1 team stayed near the chourah for distribution. Other 4 teams went for GRAM-SAMPARK where karayakartas went from one house to other and placing tilak, tying “raksha” to everyone in family, giving sweetbox and a token to each family. A member of each family was invited to come at the chourah to collect a kit by showing the token given.
2nd & 3rd PHASE of SEWAYAGNA
With the 1st phase completed, now it is time to focus on 2nd phase, which will be accomplished by 15th August, on the day of Independence & Janmastami, wherein more 500 kits will be distributed to families of Totana village, Kankrej (tehsil), Banaskantha (district) and the 3rd phase will be completed by 25th August, day of Ganeshchaturthi, wherein another 1000 kits will be distributed to families of 5 villages namely Un, Amarpura Un, Manpura Un, Badrevadi and Kharia. Improving sanitation facilities and making them sustainable means changing behaviour. Helping people to understand the importance of their toilets can inspire them to invest their time and resources in upgrading these facilities and taking care of them. The benefits of a toilet are not only health-related–the pride, dignity and convenience they bring are usually more important in convincing people to use them.”

AN OVERVIEW ON THE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY INITIATIVES BY MARICO LIMITEDVARUN KESAVAN
Water, a necessity of life without which living on earth is unimaginable. But the recent fiasco – where the water levels are going down, year on year in cities, suburbs and rural areas – draws our attention to the grim problem India is facing. Maharashtra is among the worst hit. This Holi saw the bare reality of decline in celebrations as there was not even enough water in many cities to drink! These are not new issues and the Jalgaon Plant experienced it as well. The recently organised CSR event "Every Drop Counts" was one of our first steps to take charge of resolving this issue from our end.
Six long months of planning involvement and cooperation from many hands led to the successful execution of this initiative. Over 5,000 students from 8 major schools were covered. The aim was to educate and sensitize young minds about this unavoidable major need of the hour. More than 10,000 copies of informative booklets on water conservation were distributed and mailed to schools located in far-off places and saved in school libraries for future reference. The program was encouraged by Harsh, Saugata and Milind with their messages in the booklet.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
