Children from rural villages in Tamil Nadu participated in a contest to voice their opinions on issues affecting their communities. The children of Marandapalli Village identified problems with the roads in their village, categorizing and documenting their conditions. They temporarily filled some road pits with sand to improve vital transportation. The children created pictures and charts to petition the village leadership about permanently improving the road conditions.

 The drive of this contest is to connect the child’s voice to the
Panchayat and lay the foundation for a Dream Village!

2.Unlevelled roads
3.Filled with stones full of ups and downs

8.  Commutation over long distances were of great
trouble.
 Travelling in times of emergency was made difficult
because of road condition.
 Water logging on the road piths were dangerous.
 Children’s commutation to CLCs and schools were
also difficult.
