Students at an English school in Jaipur discuss how to address the problem of excessive food waste at social gatherings like weddings. They decide to create posters and perform a street play (nukkad natak) to educate parents and the community on the importance of food and not wasting it. The students meet with their teacher to plan their presentation for parents and practice their street play. They are able to reach over 600 people with their message through the parent meeting and performances of the street play at various locations in the colony. As a result, both parents and the wider community pledge not to wastefully overfill their plates or dispose of leftover food at such events going forward.
