The students participated in a project to remove poisonous gases emitted from vehicles. They visited a vehicle smoke testing center, observed the smoke testing process, and measured carbon monoxide levels in different vehicles. They then held a procession with banners and slogans to raise awareness about the pollution and health effects of vehicle emissions. The students were able to check local vehicles and observe cleaner air as a result of their efforts to address air pollution through this project.

This study examined air pollution in Rajakkad village, India with a focus on vehicular pollution. A survey was conducted with 15 local vehicle owners. The findings showed that average air quality has declined and will likely continue to worsen over the next 5 years. Vehicular pollution, especially from diesel vehicles, is a major contributor to air pollution in the area. Air pollution was found to adversely affect human health by causing respiratory issues. Improving public transportation and reducing individual vehicle use were suggested as ways to help lower air pollution levels.

Analysis of Emission from Petrol Vehicles in the Koforidua Municipality, Ghana
Koforidua has seen its fair share in the increase in the number of cars on its roads over the past decade. This has resulted in progressive increase in traffic congestion on the roads and could lead to deterioration in the air quality. Exhaust gas emissions from a total of 104 vehicles were tested with an exhaust gas analyzer. Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon dioxide (CO2) and Carbon monoxide (CO) were measured and compared with EU standards for gasoline vehicles and Auto Data Technical information. A series of algorithms developed using Microsoft Excel Spread Sheet were used to analyze the data collected. Out of the total number of cars tested, 74 and 80 cars passed the HC and CO tests respectively. 10 cars out of the total were rated as good under CO2 test. In total, 69.5% of the cars tested passed the various tests conducted and about 73 cars representing 70.2% of the cars tested were over 10 years and the emission standards for those years were flexible.
A REVIEW STUDY ON ACTIVATED CARBON FOR REDUCING POLLUTION
Air pollution is most important from the public health of view, because every individual person breaths approximately 22000 times a day, inhaling about 15 to 22 kg of air daily. The main pollutants contribute by automobile are carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon (UBHC), oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and Lead. Pollutant removal from combustion gas in both SI&CI is one of the most widely known environmental applications of activated carbons. In order to guarantee the successful removal of contaminants and pollutants on activated carbons, the developments of new adsorbents has been increasing in the last few years. This paper is a systematic study of cleaning SI&CI engine of CO, SO2, NO2 Using activated carbon filter. The combustion gases were qualitative and quantitative analyzed by gas chromatography. The use of this simple method is a valuable alternative to meet emission standards in developing countries. It was demonstrated that the agricultural wastes studied here are a feasible alternative for reducing pollutants in SI & CI engine.

This study analyzed the levels of various pollutants from automobile exhaust in three towns in Minna, Niger State. Exhaust samples were collected from busy areas in Chanchaga, Bosso, and Lapai and analyzed for hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and carbon oxides using spectrophotometry. The results showed that pollutant levels were highest in Chanchaga, followed by Bosso, and lowest in Lapai, which correlated with the number of registered vehicles in each town. Carbon dioxide levels significantly exceeded standards for clean air. This document summarizes a study on the desulfurization of pyrolysis oil obtained from plastic waste using activated carbon as an adsorbent. Kids on the move - DFC USA Story
Fifth grade students at G Ross Elementary School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania created a project to address the lack of safe bike paths in their city. They went through a four step process of feeling the problem, imagining solutions, taking action, and sharing their project. The students met with city officials, created a petition and letter of support, and planned a Bike Rodeo community event to raise awareness of the need for designated bike paths. Their goal is to encourage the development of bike paths in a new urban parkway to promote exercise and bike safety for children in their community.

Vehicular emissions are the largest contributor to urban air pollution, accounting for 70% of emissions. A long-term strategy is needed to achieve clean air. The proposed strategy includes 6 steps: 1) Reduce need for car travel through better urban planning and public transport. 2) Reduce emissions from vehicles in use by promoting cleaner fuels and technologies. 3) Reduce emissions from household and commercial activities like refuse burning. 4) Improve industry performance through new technologies and compliance. 5) Fund research to improve understanding of air quality issues. 6) Improve planning to minimize exposure to pollution and encourage cleaner production.

This study analyzed the levels of various pollutants from automobile exhaust in three towns in Minna, Niger State. Exhaust samples were collected from busy areas in Chanchaga, Bosso, and Lapai and analyzed for hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and carbon oxides using spectrophotometry. The results showed that pollutant levels were highest in Chanchaga, followed by Bosso, and lowest in Lapai, which correlated with the number of registered vehicles in each town. Carbon dioxide levels significantly exceeded standards for clean air. The high pollutant levels pose health risks and are detrimental to human health, livestock, and crops due to effects like global warming, decreased oxygen

This document summarizes a study on the desulfurization of pyrolysis oil obtained from plastic waste using activated carbon as an adsorbent. Characterization tests showed the oil contained sulfur compounds such as thiols and sulfones. Batch and column experiments were conducted by varying the activated carbon dose and bed height. The batch experiments showed over 50% removal of sulfur was possible. Column experiments found the highest removal at a 10 cm bed height. FTIR and GC-MS analysis indicated sulfur compounds were being adsorbed onto the activated carbon. It was concluded that adsorptive desulfurization using activated carbon is an effective method for removing sulfur from pyrolysis oil produced from plastic waste.

Fifth grade students at G Ross Elementary School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania created a project to address the lack of safe bike paths in their city. They went through a four step process of feeling the problem, imagining solutions, taking action, and sharing their project. The students met with city officials, created a petition and letter of support, and planned a Bike Rodeo community event to raise awareness of the need for designated bike paths. The participants from Russia organized an anti-drug campaign to warn young people in their small town about the dangers of drug abuse. They prepared a lecture and created posters and leaflets with information obtained from the Red Cross. They presented their campaign in their school, where students listened attentively. They hope to prevent drug addiction among youth and are proud of their work addressing this important issue in their community.
