This paper presents a novel approach for static transmission expansion planning and
allocation of the associated expansion costs to individual market entities in a restructured power
system. The approach seeks the optimal addition of transmission lines among the possible candidate
transmission lines minimizing the overall system costs and at the same time satisfying the system
operational and security constraints. Novelty of the approach lies in applying a widely known
technique used for overload security analysis to an area such as Transmission expansion planning.
Transmission expansion costs are allocated using distribution factors to the individual entities in a
fair and transparent manner. The results for modified Garver Test system demonstrate that the
approach with the advantage of its simplicity can be applied to transmission expansion planning and
cost allocation in restructured power system
Performance based Comparison of Wind and Solar Distributed Generators using E...Editor IJLRES
Distributed Generation (DG) technologies have become more and more important in power systems. The objective of the paper is to optimize the distributed energy resource type and size based on uncertainties in the distribution network. The three things are considered in stand point of uncertainties are listed as, (i) Future load growth, (ii) Variation in the solar radiation, (iii) Wind output variation. The challenge in Optimal DG Placement (ODGP) needs to be solved with optimization problem with many objectives and constraints. The ODGP is going to be done here, by using Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA II). NSGA II is one among the available multi objective optimization algorithms with reduced computational complexity (O=MN2). Because of this prominent feature of NSGA II, it is widely applicable in all the multi objective optimization problems irrespective of disciplines. Hence it is selected to be employed here in order to obtain the reduced cost associated with the DG units. The proposed NSGA II is going to be applied on the IEEE 33-bus and the different performance characteristics were compared for both wind and solar type DG units.
Optimal Economic Load Dispatch of the Nigerian Thermal Power Stations Using P...theijes
This paper deals with the optimization of economic load dispatch (ELD) problem; this is to find the optimal combination of generators in order to minimize the operating costs of the system. This is done by using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. PSO is applied to search for the optimal schedule of all the generator units that can supply the required demand at minimum fuel cost while satisfying all system constraints. The PSO algorithm has been implemented using MATLAB optimization toolbox and was applied to solve the ELD problem of the Nigeria thermal power stations. The results were compared with published results obtained via micro-GA, conventional-GA and differential evolution (DE) techniques.
Optimal power flow based congestion management using enhanced genetic algorithmsIJECEIAES
Congestion management (CM) in the deregulated power systems is germane and of central importance to the power industry. In this paper, an optimal power flow (OPF) based CM approach is proposed whose objective is to minimize the absolute MW of rescheduling. The proposed optimization problem is solved with the objectives of total generation cost minimization and the total congestion cost minimization. In the centralized market clearing model, the sellers (i.e., the competitive generators) submit their incremental and decremental bid prices in a real-time balancing market. These can then be incorporated in the OPF problem to yield the incremental/ decremental change in the generator outputs. In the bilateral market model, every transaction contract will include a compensation price that the buyer-seller pair is willing to accept for its transaction to be curtailed. The modeling of bilateral transactions are equivalent to the modifying the power injections at seller and buyer buses. The proposed CM approach is solved by using the evolutionary based Enhanced Genetic Algorithms (EGA). IEEE 30 bus system is considered to show the effectiveness of proposed CM approach.

Energy Demand Analysis of Telecom Towers of Nepal with Strategic Scenario Dev...IJRES Journal
Telecom towers, technically known as BTS (Base Transceiver Stations) are the most energy intensive part of cellular network architecture and contribute up to 60 to 80% of total cellular power consumption and varies in response to the real traffic demand throughout the day and night. But, thelack of grid availability highlightsa potential barrier to telecom industry growth in Nepal. Nepal has approximately 5,222 telecom towers of which about 22% do operate on diesel generators (DGs) while the remaining by grid electricity with some shares of renewable energy technologies (RETs: solar and/or wind). Despite the large carbon imprint, the uncertainty in power availability has compelled telecom operators to use DGs to ensure continuous supply of power for the better network availability, which translates huge operating costs along with adverse environmental impact. So, it becomes an imperative solution for telecom operators to evaluate all alternatives in order to increase network reliability with reduced energy cost. This study report intentionally focus on current energy consumptionof such telecom towers and forecast thefuture energydemand with reference to growing subscriber trend up to 2025 using LEAP (Long Range Energy Alternative Planning System)withBusiness As Usual (BAU) scenario. A clean energy technology (CET) scenario with possible RET options is also developed and compared with base case scenario through some policy mechanics on behalf of environmental benefits and sustainable cellular communication. Furthermore, this study concludes a potential energy cum cost saving with RET adoption with basic cost economics analysis.

Multi-objective optimal placement of distributed generations for dynamic loadsIJECEIAES
Large amount of active power losses and low voltage profile are the two major issues concerning the integration of distributed generations with existing power system networks. High R/X ratio and long distance of radial network further aggravates the issues. Optimal placement of distributed generators can address these issues significantly by alleviating active power losses and ameliorating voltage profile in a cost effective manner. In this research, multi-objective optimal placement problem is decomposed into minimization of total active power losses, maximization of bus voltage profile enhancement and minimization of total generation cost of a power system network for static and dynamic load characteristics. Optimum utilization factor for installed generators and available loads is scaled by the analysis of yearly load-demand curve of a network. The developed algorithm of N-bus system is implemented in IEEE-14 bus standard test system to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method in different loading conditions.

One of the main objectives of electricity dispatch centers is to schedule the operation of available generating units to meet the required load demand at minimum operating cost with minimum emission level caused by fossil-based power plants. Finding the right balance between the fuel cost the green gasemissionsis reffered as Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch (CEED) problem which is one of the important optimization problems related the operationmodern power systems. The Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO) is a stochastic optimization technique which is inspired from the social learning of birds or fishes. It is exploited to solve CEED problem. This paper examines the impact of six penalty factors like "Min-Max", "Max-Max", "Min-Min", "Max-Min", "Average" and "Common" price penalty factors for solving CEED problem. The Price Penalty Factor for the CEED is the ratio of fuel cost to emission value. This bi-objective dispatch problem is investigated in the Real West Algeria power network consisting of 22 buses with 7 generators. Results prove capability of PSO in solving CEED problem with various penalty factors and it proves that Min-Max price penalty factor provides the best compromise solution in comparison to the other penalty factors.
Impact of Dispersed Generation on Optimization of Power ExportsIJERA Editor
Dispersed generation (DG) is defined as any source of electrical energy of limited size that is connected directly to the distribution system of a power network. It is also called decentralized generation, embedded generation or distributed generation. Dispersed generation is any modular generation located at or near the load center. It can be applied in the form of rechargeable, such as, mini-hydro, solar, wind and photovoltaic system or in the form of fuel-based systems, such as, fuel cells and micro-turbines. This paper presents the impact of dispersed generation on the optimization of power exports. Computer simulation was carried out using the hourly loads of the selected distribution feeders on Kaduna distribution system as input parameters for the computation of the line loss reduction ratio index (LLRI). The result showed that the line loss reduced from 163.56MW to 144.61 MW when DG was introduced which is an indication of a reduction in line losses with the installation of DG at the various feeders of the distribution system. In all the feeders where DG is integrated, the average magnitude of the line loss reduction index is 0.8754 MW which is less than 1 indicating a reduction in the electrical line losses with the introduction of DG. The line loss reduction index confirmed that by integrating DG into the distribution system, the distribution losses are reduced and optimization of power exports is achieved The results of this research paper will form a basis to establish that proper location of distributed generation units have significant impact on their effective capacity.

Reliability Constrained Unit Commitment Considering the Effect of DG and DR P...IJECEIAES
Due to increase in energy prices at peak periods and increase in fuel cost, involving Distributed Generation (DG) and consumption management by Demand Response (DR) will be unavoidable options for optimal system operations. Also, with high penetration of DGs and DR programs into power system operation, the reliability criterion is taken into account as one of the most important concerns of system operators in management of power system. In this paper, a Reliability Constrained Unit Commitment (RCUC) at presence of time-based DR program and DGs integrated with conventional units is proposed and executed to reach a reliable and economic operation. Designated cost function has been minimized considering reliability constraint in prevailing UC formulation. The UC scheduling is accomplished in short-term so that the reliability is maintained in acceptable level. Because of complex nature of RCUC problem and full AC load flow constraints, the hybrid algorithm included Simulated Annealing (SA) and Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) has been proposed to optimize the problem. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and considerable efficacy of the time-based DR program in reducing operational costs by implementing it on IEEE-RTS79.

In this paper, authors have considered Line Outage Distribution Factor (LODF) for allocating the transmission usage cost allocation under contingency condition. Authors have modified the distribution factor for maximum flow and propose a novel Maximum Line Outage Distribution Factor (MLODF) which depends upon the redistribution of the generation in the line flow considering N-1 security constraints. Similarly, for transmission loss cost allocation under contingency condition Maximum Line Outage Loss Distribution Factor (MLOLDF) is developed. Full recovery policy of transmission cost allocation is considered. The reliability and accuracy of the proposed method is tested on the sample 6 bus system.

Economic Dispatch using Quantum Evolutionary Algorithm in Electrical Power S...IJECEIAES
Unpredictable increase in power demands will overload the supply subsystems and insufficiently powered systems will suffer from instabilities, in which voltages drop below acceptable levels. Additional power sources are needed to satisfy the demand. Small capacity distributed generators (DGs) serve for this purpose well. One advantage of DGs is that they can be installed close to loads, so as to minimise loses. Optimum placements and sizing of DGs are critical to increase system voltages and to reduce loses. This will finally increase the overall system efficiency. This work exploits Quantum Evolutionary Algorithm (QEA) for the placements and sizing. This optimisation targets the cheapest generation cost. Quantum Evolutionary Algorithm is an Evolutionary Algorithm running on quantum computing, which works based on qubits and states superposition of quantum mechanics. Evolutionary algorithm with qubit representation has a better characteristic of diversity than classical approaches, since it can represent superposition of states.
This paper presents a new AGC simulation model for deregulated power systems, which
simplifies the design of the controller by concentrating mainly on load disturbances due to contract
violation of DISCOs in the system. In each area of the proposed AGC model thermal, hydro and gas
generators are considered to be part of generation control. Frequency variation due to the bilateral
contract loads is also studied with the help of DPM (DISCO participation matrix) concept. The
MATLAB/SIMULINK model of the proposed model is presented for the contracted load and UN
contracted load. Performance of the designed controller in controlling the frequency of the system
under contracted load and UN contracted load deviation is analyzed using simulation results.
Optimal Siting of Distributed Generators in a Distribution Network using Arti...IJECEIAES
Distributed generation (DG) sources are being installed in distribution networks worldwide due to their numerous advantages over the conventional sources which include operational and economical benefits. Random placement of DG sources in a distribution network will result in adverse effects such as increased power loss, loss of voltage stability and reliability, increase in operational costs, power quality issues etc. This paper presents a methodology to obtain the optimal location for the placement of multiple DG sources in a distribution network from a technical perspective. Optimal location is obtained by evaluating a global multi-objective technical index (MOTI) using a weighted sum method. Clonal selection based artificial immune system (AIS) is used along with optimal power flow (OPF) technique to obtain the solution. The proposed method is executed on a standard IEEE-33 bus radial distribution system. The results justify the choice of AIS and the use of MOTI in optimal siting of DG sources which improves the distribution system efficiency to a great extent in terms of reduced real and reactive power losses, improved voltage profile and voltage stability. Solutions obtained using AIS are compared with Genetic algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) solutions for the same objective function.
Optimal Placement of DG for Loss Reduction and Voltage Sag Mitigation in Radi...IDES Editor
This paper presents the need to operate the power
system economically and with optimum levels of voltages has
further led to an increase in interest in Distributed
Generation. In order to reduce the power losses and to improve
the voltage in the distribution system, distributed generators
(DGs) are connected to load bus. To reduce the total power
losses in the system, the most important process is to identify
the proper location for fixing and sizing of DGs. It presents a
new methodology using a new population based meta heuristic
approach namely Artificial Bee Colony algorithm(ABC) for
the placement of Distributed Generators(DG) in the radial
distribution systems to reduce the real power losses and to
improve the voltage profile, voltage sag mitigation. The power
loss reduction is important factor for utility companies because
it is directly proportional to the company benefits in a
competitive electricity market, while reaching the better power

Security Constraint Unit Commitment Considering Line and Unit Contingencies-p...IJAPEJOURNAL
This paper presents a new approach for considering all possible contingencies in short-term power system operation. Based on this new approach, both generator and transmission line outages would be modeled in network-based power system analysis. Multi generator and also parallel transmission lines is modeled in this methodology. We also investigate this claim that feasibility and applicability of this approach is much more than the previous analytical methodologies. Security Constrained Unit commitment (SCUC) program which is carried out by Independent System Operator (ISO), is one of the complex problems which would be handled by this approach. In this paper, a DC-Optimal Power Flow (DCOPF) methodology has been implemented by particle swarm optimization technique. The Lagrangian Relaxation technique is based on the derivatives and the PSO is a non- derivative technique. These approaches are effective tools which can be implemented for short-term and long-term power system analysis, especially for economic analysis of restructured power systems. The DCOPF methodology has been considered for LMP calculation in LR, which is not available in PSO techniques. In the other hand, PSO technique may be able to provide the optimal solution, where LR usually getting stuck at a local optimum in a large scale power system. The simulation results show that the presented methods are both satisfactory and consistent with expectation.
Design and Simulation Analysis of Outer Stator Inner Rotor DFIG by 2d and 3d ...Mellah Hacene
In this paper, a time stepping 2D and 3D FEM is performed for modeling and analysis interior rotor DFIG .The finite element method currently represents the state-of-the-art in the numerical magnetic field computation relating to electrical machines. Optimal Integration of the Renewable Energy to the Grid by Considering Small ...IJECEIAES
In recent decades, one of the main management’s concerns of professional engineers is the optimal integration of various types of renewable energy to the grid. This paper discusses the optimal allocation of one type of renewable energy i.e. wind turbine to the grid for enhancing network’s performance. A multi-objective function is used as indexes of the system’s performance, such as increasing system loadability and minimizing the loss of real power transmission line by considering security and stability of systems’ constraints viz.: voltage and line margins, and eigenvalues as well which is representing as small signal stability. To solve the optimization problems, a new method has been developed using a novel variant of the Genetic Algorithm (GA), specifically known as Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGAII). Whereas the Fuzzy-based mechanism is used to support the decision makers prefer the best compromise solution from the Pareto front. The effectiveness of the developed method has been established on a modified IEEE 14-bus system with wind turbine system, and their simulation results showed that the dynamic performance of the power system can be effectively improved by considering the stability and security of the system.
An automated transmitter positioning system for misalignment compensation of...IJECEIAES
Misalignments are one of the most unfavorable aspects of the capacitive power transfer (CPT) system, which is inevitable in most of the applications. Misalignments affect the overall resonances in the circuit and decrease the power transfer capability and efficiency. In this paper, an automated electro-mechanical transmitter positioning system is proposed for capacitive wireless charging to withstand both axial and rotational misalignments. The system can align the transmitter based on an adaptive algorithm, with respect to the position of the receiver to mitigate the misalignments. The overall system is designed using SolidWorks and the algorithm is verified using Processing. Then, a hardware prototype is constructed in the laboratory. The accuracy of the proposed system is calculated and compared with the simulation results. The system can achieve an accuracy of 99.5%, in case of axial misalignment and an average accuracy of 98.6%, in case of both axial and rotational misalignments, which validate the simulation results.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
